It's not the same when you have to ask for a ring.

The thing is, you think the pills will cure you. But depression and anxiety like to hide in everything we do. In the little things left unsaid. Of the smile that faded when no one was looking. And I hate it. That I cannot be the person I was before my mental health deteriorated.

And I had loved you far more than I loved myself. Gave every ounce of my soul to you. And you just sort of had enough one day. After 10 years of love and sacrifice you just said, "I don't love you anymore." But it didn't hurt like I thought it would. In reality, I'd started falling out of love with you. For all the things you did not do. For all the times you laughed at my mental health. For all the times you made me foot the bill. For all the guilt you made me feel. 10 years is a small lifetime. And it was gone and done with in less than a moment.

Recognition across the busy street. As if you were the only one standing there. My heart raced and my body throbbed. Oh to be touched by you again.
