Wires
One thing I really like is seeing patterns in various photos I've taken that I probably didn't think about at the time. I have a long running project I'm calling "Cest Garbage" which is centered around wast infrastructure, but other than that I don't tend to go out and look for things to fit a theme. I just happened to have a handful of photos here that all have wires in them that draw attention.
Camera: Canon P and Bessamatic I think?
Film: Vision 3 500T, Ilfocolor, Unknown which is likely another Vision 3
Reflections
Working through my backlog of color film I just had developed. Close to a years worth of film. The last few rolls had very few photos I was satisfied with so I stopped getting them developed for a while, but this batch was full of photos that I'm really pleased with, its really motivated me to burn through some more rolls.
Camera: Top: Bessamatic Bottom two: Canon P
Film: Top: Unknown, probably a Vision 3 respool. Bottom 2: Ilfocolor+
It's been a bit.
I moved over the summer and sorta stopped taking pictures for a bit and stopped developing and scanning. I'm at least developing and scanning, but haven't taken a ton of pictures lately. I no longer live in Capitol Hill and thus am not walking the city as much, which is where a lot of my pictures came from. I am happy with my move, overall its been a positive, but it has made me feel a little more removed from the city, and if you can't tell, cities are a big inspiration for my art. I am trying to come up with strategies to give myself more time and space for photography, but in the mean time I have a rather sizable backlog of film to develop and scan.
Oh also I bought a Holga.

One of my metamours gave me her fathers old Bessamatic that he bought in Germany back in the day. I feel so honored as this was the camera that most of her childhood was shot on, and she entrusted it to me. Its a very fun camera to shoot, very funky metering and exposure system that takes some getting used to. I am also more accustomed to rangefinders, even shooting digital I tend to use the rangefinder-esque focusing aid, and while this has a prism, its still taken me a bit to get comfortable with again.

Been pretty inactive lately but did bring my cameras on a little overnight trip to Vancouver recently.
Queenstown
We did a gondola-trail hike in Queenstown. Absolutely incredible views, bonus doggo.

Quick Interlude
Sorry to interrupt the flow of Aotearoa posts but I recently started developing and scanning at home and I just wanted to share the result. I'm still getting comfortable with Silverfast and Negative Lab Pro, but I am starting to get the flow down.

Aotearoa, 2024
One thing I really struggled with on this trip was that I tend to be drawn to street scenes, architecture, infrastructure, and one of the chief selling points of the South Island is a lack of all of those things. This handful of shots are about it in terms of what was in my comfort zone, the rest of the 8 rolls and LOTS of digital I shot there are largely nature and landscapes, which is well out of my comfort zone.

Birds on Film
We met a duck which we named Singlegrain as they were begging for our multigrain bread. Over the next several days we decided every duck we met was Singlegrain, our friend following us on our journey around the South Island. Singlegrain of Queenstown leads this set, also including seagulls, because seagulls down there are fucking unhinged.

I will approve of AI on tumblr only if it is used to filter out all the garbage that gets posted on certain tags. Like if I could browse through photography tags without all the shitty male gaze nudes that would be great.
