          weston twirls a pen absentmindedly, staring off into the distance. he isn’t lost in a train of thought, nor is he distracted by anything other than the gentle breeze that brushes against the bare skin of his arms. weston has never been one to relax, considering his line of work, but he’s allowed himself to do so for this moment. he closes his eyes for a moment and takes a deep breath before the words leave his lips, his voice soft,

                    “ i could never LIVE here. not for too long, anyway. but then again, i always find myself leaving. it doesn’t matter where i am, really. ”

          he rests his chin in his hand, watching the male pace about the           room. he suspects this must have something to do with beau or           perhaps something leon’s been assigned to do, but the fact of           the matter is this: he doesn’t know whats happening EXACTLY.           if there’s one thing weston cannot stand, it’s being in the dark.

                    “ you know i love you, leon, but you MUST sit down. you’re                     making me nervous. what’s going on ?? ”

          he sat silently, leaning back in his seat. he’d been thinking for some time now, occupying little space, not paying much attention to what was happening around him. he stared absentmindedly at the ceiling above them, his on his chin. after a moment, he sat up suddenly and looked at the woman. 

                  “ when was the last time you ACTUALLY sat down and just... breathed ?? relaxed ?? i don’t just mean today, either, my dear. ”

          although he’s always done his best to be a patient man, there’s           certain people and situations that only irritate him. as his leg           bounces impatiently and his head rests in his hand, he speaks           slowly.          

                    “ no, i REALLY don’t have time for this. or you. ”

         for a moment, he stares. the word has simply slipped out,          he didn’t exactly mean anything but it — at least, that’s          what he’s telling himself. he raises a brow, glancing at          the around the room. he clears his throat as he shifts          slightly in his seat, arms folded over his chest. 

                “ uh — son ?? ”

          “ well, my initial response was going to be           because he’s awful, but… it’s probably           because he likes your butt, you loser. ”

          he should’ve knocked. hell, he should’ve rang the door bell before           almost ripping it off it’s hinges (his magic gets a little unstable when           his emotions run high) but he wasn’t thinking. really, it’s one of the           few times leon has allowed himself to rely purely on instinct. he’s           excited, and he wants to share with weston.

          he almost does topple over when he runs into the other but his           hand steadies him. he crushes weston in a bear hug, enable to           wipe the smile off his face. really, he came here as fast as he           could after a few activities with his new fiance (the word still makes           him grin; FIANCE). for a man who thought love was secondary to           everything else, he sure seems to have fallen real hard for this blond. 

                    ❝ i don’t know! i guess?? i didn’t think he’d actually say yes                     RIGHT AWAY!! i’m — holy shit, i’m getting MARRIED. ❞

          weston has no problem with dealing with the door situation later ---           if anything, he’ll get a new one. it’s not like it would hurt. but right           now, that’s not what matters to him. what matters to him is the fact           this is the first time he has ever seen leon so happy, and he simply           wants to take a second to appreciate it.

          a laugh leaves his lips as he pats the other’s back before squeezing           him gently, fingers curling into the fabric of his shirt. he cannot believe           the reaction a simple ‘yes’ has gotten out of leon, but he isn’t about           to complain. not when leon seems to be on top of the world. really,           the only thing that weston has ever wanted to see was leon HAPPY,           and he’s finally getting it. there’s no one on this planet more deserving           of happiness than the man in his arms.

                    ❝ weston? hey, weston, i have news!! ❞

          it’s not common for leon to randomly burst into weston’s home           without knocking, especially not to start yelling like this. he doesn’t           mean to, he’s a little too excited and he ran all the way here and           he’s just so excited! it’s very out of character for leon, and you could           easily assume someone was DYING but the huge smile on his face           would quickly put that assumption to rest.

          it takes him a second to find weston (he runs into him – quite literally)           but when he does, he beams brighter than he already was. rare are           the times where leon’s been happier than this, so it’s quite a sight.

                    ❝ HI!! so, i proposed to beau. and — and he said YES, dad!! ❞

          the last thing weston expects to hear is leon’s voice ringing through           his home. the initial shock of it all causes the man to jump, nearly           dropping whatever he’s holding. his brows furrow as he exits the           upstairs bedroom, glancing down the hall and towards the stairs.           he hears the other’s footsteps and decides that perhaps he should           head downstairs---

          and the second he does, he’s running into the man, hands grabbing           his arms to make sure leon doesn’t topple over. but the sight of the           other’s sheer excitement causes a smile to form on weston’s lips           before he even hears the words leave leon’s mouth. but once he           does, his arms wrap around the male and he tugs him close,           hugging him tight to his chest.

      no one’s trying to scare anyone here; leon’s simply directing traffic, finishing his cigarette. he lets out a bit of a chuckle, if anything to assure the man there’s nothing to worry about. any friend of oleg’s. “i’m sorry to hear that, my friend.” 

      he makes note of the crossed arms. “oleg’s a real fucking prick, eh ?” oleg’s leon’s ‘business partner’– he’s used to him bringing around new faces. not completely comfortable with it, but used to it. still, he’s laughing as he says it, flicking the ashes from his cigarette. it’s burning faster than he can smoke it. BUT he means it. 

his hand extends on it’s own accord– a gesture that comes too naturally. it’s such a motion. a step. “leon.” 

          call weston paranoid--- in his line of work, you almost have to be. not a minute is spent without weston possibly glancing over his shoulder or watching everyone else in the room with intense fascination. “ oh, i wouldn’t worry too much about it. ”

          that smile returns and his arms ease their way back to his sides. he needs to learn to relax, to maybe NOT treat everyone person he meets as a possible threat. after all, that’s not how you bring people closer. that’s not how you learn every little thing about them. “ he’s nothing that i can’t handle, i assure you, sir. ” dare he let that smile turn into a smirk ??
