Part of me wonders if this was done to be symbolic. Obviously he’s stunned here, being thrown across a roof into a pane of glass and nearly falling off a building will do that to you, but the way he lays there looking down at the city, half-on half-off the roof almost seems symbolic in a way. Especially since he was so depressed throughout Vendetta and we know he’s been suicidal in the past. This was probably the moment when he thought “how much longer can we keep going on like this” ‘cause he realized that was almost it for him right there.

I noticed this when I first watched it as well. The lingering on the drop right there and Leon just looking down. So close to death but still keeping his leg and arm out to hold his limp side from falling. He is half hanging on to life while the other has given up, not struggling, just… hanging. I think this was a slight switch in his brain that made him think does he really want to die? Does he keep fighting? He seems to look better mentally in Death Island set a year after Vendetta. I know the feeling, not to Leon’s extent obviously, but the depression and the suicidal tendencies. This small few second scene hit me like a wave of bricks and had me audibly say “Wow.” I love Vendetta so much and the story telling the Resident Evil series has.
