in a near eastern remedy for loneliness, the recipe calls for three votives of clay: one of you like you are, one of you running-off, and the third of you crying, runny nose. the three votives need to be clutching themselves, together in a circle, touch on touch. your grief needs to cling unto your recovery, needs to cling unto the version of you that neglects the two. you need to give form to the ugly things in you. you need to touch, to know, to feel the three versions of you. you need to vision yourself running off, then not running off. you need to look into the unfurling future of recovery. you need to grieve this loneliness, then know you're lonely for nothing
