On the topic of being schizophrenic; I think having friends who treat my disorder like another part of life, as unimportant as my other eccentricities, is the best thing to have ever happened to me. Having friends who can hear about past and present delusions and nod and understand and move on like the belief that I'm stalked by inhuman creatures who don't wish me harm and only wish to watch me is as inconsequential as my bad hoarding habits or my selective interests. It's really freeing. Especially because these people don't know anything about schizophrenia. They don't even know I have it. I never had to tell them. They heard about my hallucinations and delusions and just accepted that was a part of me
