Celestial Pictures was honored in producing this video for the Social Welfare Board, a not for profit healthcare clinic in St. Joseph, MO.Β Our film crew were able to interview multiple medical personnel and staff throughout their busy schedule. We also had current patients come in as well and share their experiences with the clinic. It was a challenge for us to do multiple interviews as well as getting enough b-roll footage of the three different clinic services, all in one day. However we were able to compile all of that into a short and concise video to explain to the public how the Social Welfare Board serves the community, as well as why donations are important to the clinic. The Social Welfare Board of Buchanan County (SWB) is a not for profit healthcare clinic created by MO State Statute 205.770 in 1913. As the oldest free clinic in the United States, the founder garnered the support of local governments and community members. Equally as important, the founder persuaded the communityβs physicians to treat the impoverished at no charge. The SWB provides the following clinics: primary medical, womenβs health, dental, limited behavioral health and wrap around services for the homeless. The clinic is centrally located in the historic Patee Health Market, 904 S.10th, Suite A, St. Joseph, MO, Monday through Friday, 8:00am β 4:30pm. Uninsured individuals residing in Buchanan County with incomes 200% and below the federal poverty level are eligible for medical and dental services. Gynecological income guidelines are up to 300% of the federal poverty level, with no geographical restrictions. The Social Welfare Board is committed to serving this primarily rural area where there are more access barriers to overcome, lower income levels, and higher percentages of uninsured.
