TEMPORARY BLISS

Parker had just arrived back at the Haus for what felt like the hundredth time. He had gotten the same room as usual and just thrown his things in on the bed before making his way to the library. It was the perfect time of day to to find his favorite chair and get lost in a good book. AS he came upon said chair he found someone sitting in the one next to it. “Mind if I sit next to you?” He asked with a small friendly smile.

It was funny, the first two years that Carter was at the Haus he'd never even stepped foot into the library, but now it was a place he came when he needed that quiet few minutes to himself.  Everyone here was so wrapped up in books and reading, that he could stand naked in the middle of the room and still not be bothered.  It was DIVINE, and the more he found himself coming there he even started thumbing through books.  All non-fiction, fact books about this or that, novels not his speed (he'd hardly have time to finish anything he started).  He heard a sound beside him, half asleep as the book he'd chosen was nothing short of boring, looking down at the empty chair and then back up to the man.  "It's all yours, Chief."

Emery sauntered out of his shower, unaware of the figure standing in the doorway of his suite. He lazily wrapped a towel around his waist as he emerged out of the bathroom. When he finally noticed the presence, he hardly flinched; instead running his hand through his hair and letting out a pensive noise. “You’d think for all the work here we’d get loftier digs.” His voice was monotone as he stared out the window. “What I wouldn’t give for a fucking balcony.” Emery walked across the room, glancing at the man. “You can come in. Although it’s no bloody Chateau Marmont.” 

"Just gotta fuck the right client and then the worlds your oyster," or at least that's how Carter saw things, staff getting the short end of the stick when it came to a LOT of things around the haus.  "You'd be surprised how easy it is to get a yes out of something," no matter the want, please the clients enough and they were putty in his hands.  Maybe that's why he'd been there for a few years now and couldn't think of leaving, because the power that he had even as a staff was impressive.  "I was told to come and collect your laundry," Carter let out a groan, hating having to do the job but it was a punishment.  The Haus had tried taking the rougher route with him and he'd turned to just love it, so now when he overstepped they went more in a tedious annoying direction.  "Gotta do my rounds you know, make it look good," he rolled his eyes as he walked further in the room after being welcomed inside.

“Only if they are dumb, cariño.” Considering where they were? What people did around there? Only someone with serious mental issues would require a drawing to understand what he wanted from another man. “Tell me, mi amor…” The assassin’s fingers caressed the cold surface of his glass as he turned his attention fully to the owner of the most gorgeous blue eyes he had ever seen. Last time he had seen eyes that blue… he had shot the man between his eyes. “Are you brave enough? A chico like you?” Brown eyes lingered down the other man’s frame. Well built but not in a overly worked way. Someone who took care with his appearance and yet was not enslaved by it. Handsome. Not coy. “I bet you’re the one that personifies braveness around here, si? The type of man that… fears nothing.”

“You’ve known me for how long Carter Andrews? When in the world do I ever decide to give up?” Valerie couldn’t stop his own laughter as the man’s hand found his lap. Carter had always been this irresistible force, and when the two of them were together it was like a train wreck ready to happen at any moment, but something unstoppable. “You’ve just become desensitized to thinking all booze is good booze- and that is not good booze!” His laughter carried on as the other curled into him, throwing them down onto the couch, Val landing on his back- staring up at Carter, unable to rip the smile from his face, there were few people who were able to get that reaction from him. “This isn’t fair!” He said loudly, breathing heavily through his laughter as he reached up to grab the other’s hips, “This is too much attention- I don’t know what I’m supposed to do with it!” Catching his breath, he licked over his lips, his voice softening, “You drive me crazy.’

Sam huffed an embarrassed laugh. “Well that’s good to know. I would hate to be the only clumsy staff member here,” he joked. “Oh really?” Sam asked after the man spoke. “Well, I’m not gonna lie, I like the more personal approach myself. Let’s people see my undeniable charm,” Sam said with a cheeky grin. “I can see the appeal of it though,” he shrugged. “I’m Sam, by the way. It’s nice to meet you.”

"You'd be surprised the hold those devices can have on someone," Carter remembering back to when a client had allowed him the luxury of calling up a random number only to fuck them senseless why the other man watched.  HOW he was able to stay out of the fun was unknown to Carter, but who was he to complain when he was getting laid regardless?  "You and me both, Chief, there's just something about a good face to face interaction..."  The introduction had Carter grinning, "names Carter, right back at you."

Diesel tilted his head with a look of sarcasm. “I guess you have a point there. I’m not a big fan of sharing either.” He gave a grizzly beam, looking the stranger up and down for a second before furring his brows. “Bourbon, huh?’ Diesel twitched his nose and frowned, ”but you know, that’s my favorite.” He said with a slight moan, dragging out the ‘e’. He ran his hands through his hair before looking back at the man. "Let’s make a deal; how about I give you something for that beautiful glass of straight-up Bourbon.” He was joking of course, but he was just testing what the young man would say.

NOW this man was talking because Carter was ALL for making deals, and if it'd meant he was getting SOMETHING out of the exchange than that was exciting!  "Depends on what you'd be putting on the table as an offer," he hadn't realized the man was joking, would certainly be somewhat torn when he'd found out he'd in fact NOT had the upperhand right now - but really, it was his own fault for being stupid enough to think that he had ANY clout around here.  "I'm sure we could come up with an offer decent enough to PERSUADE me to part with this liquid gold."

Madre de Dios. After several hours in a damn airplane, the only thing Sebastian could think about was reaching the damn resort and hit the freaking bar as fast as humanly possible. Which was exactly what he did once he checked-in and found some… boy to take his bags to his room, under the penalty of breaking both of his wrists if someone was missing from his belongings. Now at the bar, the assassin was fully in his element. Handsome lads, great music… ever better alcohol. What more could a guy want? “There is only one thing missing to make this arrival unforgettable.” Lips brushed against the surface of his glass as Sebastian took a small sip from the expensive drink. “All I need is a volunteer.”

Diesel strutted over to the stranger he had seen lounging and sipping something without a care. He had just gotten back from a run and was only wearing a pair of shorts, his bear chest being out. “What are you drinking,” His deep voice filled the room with hardly any effort. “and why aren’t you sharing?” He said to the attractive man with an arrogant grin. 

"Because," Carter started gazing in the others direction a mere moment as the flicker of a smirk took over his face, "if I shared there'd be less for me, and that doesn't necessarily sound like a good equation, now does it?"  Granted more was better than none for the large man, "call me selfish.  Bourbon, by the way," he'd totally forgotten to tell him what he'd been drinking.

Sam was walking around, exploring the Haus as he fiddled with the device he’d been given clear instructions not to lose. Which made him feel like he’d lose it within a week. He honestly hoped not, as he didn’t really want to get reprimanded for doing so. As he moved down a hallway, he bumped into someone, causing him to drop the item in his hand. “Shit,” he mumbled, hoping it wasn’t broken. Sam leaned down and thanked his lucky stars that nothing had happened as he picked it up, then he looked up to apologize for not paying attention. But nothing came out of his mouth as he just stared at the attractive man standing there. “Uh.. s-sorry,” he stuttered.

"Don't worry Chief, we've all been there," Carter laughed as he watched the staff member scramble to pick up the device.  "If it makes you feel better it's not often that they're even used," not that it meant that the staff wouldn't get asked for services a lot, "most of the clients around here like to keep it personal.  It's one thing to pick someone up at a bar, but it's an entirely different thing just to punch in their number and expect them to show up."  Not that it didn't happen, just from personal experience face to face brought around a LOT more action than those devices ever did.

“Please don’t tell me you’re ignoring me right now, that would break my heart - and the last thing I want to do is reveal that I’m not a soulless asshole to half the people around here- then they’ll want to start being my friend. See how much of a mess that would be?” Valerie couldn’t help but tease the other as he leaned back onto the counter, a gentle smile on his face as he reached over to steal the other man’s drink, taking a small sip from it. “What is this? It’s awful. Why are you drinking poison?” He coughed.

"You don't give up do you?"  Carter laughed reaching to take his drink back but instead landing with his hand in the others lap, "you don't know good booze then if you're calling THAT awful."  He gave the others lap a pat as he threw himself back against the other curling up on him enough to kill both of their balance bringing them crashing onto the couch that was nearby.  Laughing triumphantly as Carter climbed onto the others waist he could only look down at whom he was holding captive now.  "Now what are you going to do, wise guy?"

Allow me to introduce myself. I’m Evan Johnson, the newest member of staff here at our little slice of paradise. If you’re a client, I’m here to make your life easier and your experience here as pleasant and fun as possible.

"What happens on the off chance that you're a staff member though?  Hm?  Do we not get the same luxury of you making sure our experience is as fun as possible?  Please tell me you're not wasting yourself by only humoring the clients?"

Simon had to admit that the male in front of him was hot and to have a hot man turned on and thinking only about fucking was another thing all together. He lifted his shirt off after he was tugged closer. “Then by all means, gratify you and I instantly,” he said with a wink before leaning in and pressing their lips together in a heated kiss. His arms wrapped around the male’s waist and held him against his body. If this staff member wanted him this bad then by all means he was going to be allowed to take him right here and now if he wanted it.

“Right, come on then,” Alexei directed, standing. He tucked the remaining paper balls into his pockets (because he might be an antagonistic asshole, but he wasn’t a litterer), and started leading the way toward the edge of the Haus property.

Along the way, a flash of blue caught his eye. A discarded bottlecap. Barely pausing in his stride, Alexei scooped it up, and tossed it to Carter with a wink. “Don’t let your pants go flying off just yet. Probably not the best place for it.”

Along the edge of the fence at the property line were some tastefully maintained shrubberies, concealing a hole in the fence that the cats used. And as they got closer, a chorus of chirping meows greeted them, and a black blur raced out of the bushes only to immediately start climbing Alexei’s leg, while two more kittens started nosing at Carter’s shoes. “There’s a chef in one of the restaurants that gives me leftovers to feed them. Aw, they’re getting so round.”

Carter had no idea what to expect right now with this other staff member.  This wasn't really his idea of how he wanted to spend his day, but then again it was killing time and it's not like his device was going nuts in his pocket or anything.  Perhaps this was EXACTLY what he needed, a break from the reality they call the Haus, and this kid seemed to at least think outside the box - something that Carter could truly appreciate.

The bottlecap though, Carter burst out laughing as he caught it and looked it over, "oh man I don't know, I kind of feel the belt loosening, it's going to be hard to keep them on after this."  He caught up with him, "wait, does this mean you're trying to flirt with me?"  He teased offering him a small appreciative nudge at his side.  

Hattan grinned. At least that was well-received. “I guess I must seem conservative compared to what you see on the regular. I mean I feel like I’m experimenting but my ‘experimenting’ looks super vanilla in comparison. If all the shit in my room is anything to go by.”

Yoga? That sounded interesting. “I’ll file away that yoga for later. Maybe it won’t kick my ass.”

Chance had a tendency to talk a lot. It was just a fact and when someone took their clothes off, sometimes he had a tendency to talk even more. The younger man was rambling like it was his job. “Um, if you lose your pants I might just nervously talk even more and then you’ll hear my voice forever, not that I don’t want you to lose your pants. I definitely want you to take them off, just I have a tendency to talk.”
