after dropping off cappuccino at his parents’ home for a few hours, hyunwoo is practically bouncing down the sidewalk. and no, it’s not because he’s away from his precious fluffball. how can anyone come up with such idiotic ideas? he loves the pomperanian/chihuahua mix too much to ever find delight in that.
the real reason he’s floating on cloud nine is simple: it’s bath day at the animal shelter where he volunteers. sunyoung will happen to be there as well, much to his delight. if there’s anyone that shares his love for dogs, it’s, without a doubt, her.
it takes him around 10 minutes to arrive. he immediately greets the other volunteers with a big smile before going into the back room to change into blue scrubs. once that’s done, the man asks around for his small, cheery friend of four years. “she’s already in the back,” someone tells him, pointing towards a door that leads to the wash tubs.
she claims to love hyunwoo, yet starts without him– he doesn’t blame her. dogs are everything that is wonderful in the world. sighing, he pushes past the entry way, spotting the female washing a furry, black dog. “hey, loser. need any help over there?”
sunrise bedtimes and sleeping well into the afternoon was behaviour typical for sunyoung. it would have been nearly illogical for the moon card to have been anything but nocturnal after all. thus, there were few things in life that could motivate her to overcome her night owl instincts--but if ever listed, the majority of the exceptions would be breeds of animals.
especially fluffy animals.
sunyoung arrives two hours prior to the shelter’s opening, practically vibrating with excitement for what’s to come. along with her affinity with the moon came a penchant for water and so, spending an entire day bathing and grooming cute feline and canine friends was just a step below nirvana. it takes a bit of time to set out all the tubs and their respective equipment. however, with aid of the other volunteers, it didn’t take long for sunyoung to be elbows deep in water, washing her shaggy, dark furred friend.
“sirius, behave,” she sighs, though the smile on her face betrays her exasperated tone though. “ah, stop splashing!”
her arms lift up instinctively to shield her face from the restless dog--there’s a bit of grey in his fur, but he was still a disobedient but ever so endearing marauder. at the familiar sound of her best friend’s voice, sunyoung looks over her shoulder with a smile though it immediately dissipates once she feels her top and apron soaked by one of sirius’ waves.
“i--yes, maybe a little?”
