Knocking one his elbows against the stalls, he nearly jumped at the sound of a familiar voice call out. Though the bathroom was constantly well illuminated, it didn’t mask the fact that it was still unnerving to be in it during the dead silence.
An eye peers over the stall. Ah. It’s Iida. The eye splits off a little, to show a mouth. Hopefully he doesn’t scare the daylights (or… nightlights in this case?) out of him.
“It’s just me, Iida. I hope I didn’t wake you.”
As someone who lived on the fourth floor, it was safe to say, he wouldn’t be able to hear anything on the ground floor (despite , but he wasn’t sure about how light a sleeper Iida was.
He doesn’t necessarily know how thin the walls were either.
He pulls back his mouth and eye from the stall. He has his cloak covering most of his injuries, but it was the issue of his mouth exposed. He hadn’t planned on it getting ripped through with eats, causing another mark on his face. The bleeding had stopped long ago, just a nick, temporarily covered up with a scarf.
A soft click of the stall lock comes undone. A duffel bag was on the hook inside that he picked up as he started to exit. His hair was slightly unkempt, as the wind outside could be the reason, but it didn’t excuse much of anything else. He looks worn out, the scarf loosely thrown around his neck and stacked so that a good portion of his mouth was covered… but not completely. The cloak he had covered his arms as well. He realizes he hadn’t quite answered his question, looking Tenya over before speaking once more.
“I’m okay. I had a family emergency and told Sensei I would return at a rather odd hour. May I ask what are you doing up?”
it was shoji... tenya had never encountered him out after curfew, so this would be only a light scolding from a teacher after reporting it. though that thought soon dwindled away at how his friend looked-- what happened? he looked beaten up, and the scarf bundled so high obviously hiding something, more than his usually mouth cover did, caused his chest to tense.
the question was avoided, and tenya caught on to that quick. something was definitely up, and being in the state where he wanted to make sure everything was in order before going back to sleep, he couldn’t help but pry.
“i was just checking up on the halls, making sure everything was as it should! you... are you okay? you look to be a bit roughed up.”
even if it was ‘a bit’, tenya felt worry building in his chest, making him want to run and wake up one of the teachers, or find out if they could get recovery girl up as well-- what was shoji hiding? did they not trust tenya enough to tell him?
