so i recently made a post about my theory that shane is a trickster deity and i wanted to collect some evidence to back this up.
-most of the evidence for this would probably also align with demon!shane evidence, but the main thing that speaks against shane being a demon isā¦. that heās just not evil enough.
-he IS a bit of a sadist and likes to poke fun at people, but in a healthy limit. no lasting damage done
-extensive knowledge about historic events (specifically weird or funny historic events), as if heād been there himself
-the way he talks is a little weird sometimes, as if heās forgetting which time period heās in bc hes so old
-isnāt afraid of possible ghosts or demons bc he knows heād be more powerful than them
-probably has telekinetic powers, can turn flashlights on and off at will
-likes to challenge local cryptids for their territories
-can communicate with bigfoot
-the exorcism didnt work on him bc he isnt a demon, but it made him react a little. also holy water probably has no effect on him
-while he has a bid of a morbid sense of humour (the execution breakfast and also clearly thinks ricky goldsworth is hilarious), heās totally not down for anything actually evil. antagonises demons more than regular ghosts and has no sympathy for bad people (and horrible poets)
-probably feeds off of mischief so he stays close to ryan whoās hilariously easy to prank and annoy
-the hotdaga is clearly the work of a supernatural jokester, probably his ghospel or something
-is mad when aliens get the credit for weird things happening bc it was actually his doing
-good at making up personas and characters bc he had to impersonate different humans throughout history
-says really weird shit sometimes bc even after centuries he still doesnt have this human stuff figured out 100% (the pickle stuff? drinks iced milk? is afraid of being forced into heroin addiction?)
