   I have chosen the NESARC study, on reading the codebook i got particularly interested in studying about the adolescents suffering from major depression issues, my variables include “had trouble concentrating on things most days for 2+ weeks” coded as S4AQ4A14 and “having trouble falling asleep for most of the days for 2+ weeks” coded as S4AQ4A5.

  I wanted to find if there was any relationship between adolescents suffering from depression issues and separation of their parents before 18 years of age. Based on the data and literature review i set my null hypothesis as there being a significant association between separation of parents and developing of depression issues in their children.
