Now, remember Moonlight was the best-reviewed film of 2016.  Moonlight won countless critic awards but when it came to two nationally televised award shows we remember what name was called the most LA LA Land. 

Fuck it lets do this.  Didn’t the Golden Globes say they changed the rules because of controversy that occurred with Ridley’s Scott The Martian?

Now the Globes’ organisers, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, have moved to ensure the issue does not rear its head at next year’s ceremony. New rules will mean “dramas with comedic overtones should be entered as dramas”, reports Entertainment Weekly.

Also, let’s keep 100 maybe you’re not aware of this but The Golden Globes has a long infamous history of corruption where people have bribe voters to win.  

Another notable shift means studios will no longer be able to wine and dine voters between the date of the announcement of nominations and the final ceremony, which next year will be held on 8 January.

In 2013, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association — which presides over the Globes — settled a lawsuit with Michael Russell, who was the organization’s publicist for 17 years.

No details of the settlement were made public, but in his $2 million breach of contract and fraud suit, Russell claimed that he had been fired for attempting to tackle corruption within the ranks of his former employers.

Alleging that members routinely accepted money, holidays and gifts from movie studios in exchange for Golden Globes nominations, Russell’s suit added: “HFPA members abuse their positions and engage in unethical and potentially unlawful deals and arrangements which amount to a ‘payola’ scheme. ”

In 2011, the same year the suit was filed, even Hollywood’s most heavily Botoxed brows were raised when two universally derided pictures — Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp’s so-called thriller “The Tourist” (which inspired such critical invective as “farcical,” “preposterous” and “craptacular”), and Christina Aguilera and Cher’s musical clunker “Burlesque” — received three Globe nominations apiece.Could the voters’ fondness for these flops have anything to do with their all-expenses-paid trip to Las Vegas — with luxury hotel rooms, food and a private performance by Cher — generously hosted by Sony Pictures, the distributor of the two abominable nominees?

It’s not so much blaming white people but let’s not pretend this isn’t a system and award show that has shown favoritism toward certain movies while actors and actresses of color have often gone ignored.  As I brought up before Moonlight was the best-reviewed film of 2016 took home numerous awards but yet when it to nationally televised award shows it played second fiddled to La La Land.  Hell, they won the best picture award during the Oscars and their moment was taken from them due to a fuck up.  

Now Get Out, the best-reviewed movie of 2017 has to put itself as a comedy because they feel this is their best chance to win at the Golden Globes.

That tells me everything I need to know.

Also that statement you said “I have had many black people tell me this is a hilarious movie“ do not speak for all black people and I don’t know why when I read that it reminded me of the whole.

The point is Jordan Peele when writing and directing this film categorized it as a what?  He took to a studio that is known for producing what type of films?  Universal/Blumhouse marketed this film as a what?

Maybe next time your feelings are hurt because people decide to speak on bullshit that occurs maybe do some research and understand where they’re coming from.

I guess you rather when people are offended to keep silent or do it in a way where you don’t have to see it.

The president of the Academy Awards vowed Monday to take “dramatic steps to alter the makeup of our membership” after not a single person of color was nominated for an acting Oscar — for the second year in a row.

“I am both heartbroken and frustrated about the lack of inclusion,” Cheryl Boone Isaacs wrote on the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ official Twitter page. “This is a difficult but important conversation, and it’s time for big changes.“

Actress and singer-songwriterJada Pinkett Smith said she too would not be attending or watching this year’s ceremony.

All of the nominees in this year’s acting categories are white, which has spawned a social media backlash fueled by the hashtag #OscarsSoWhite.

On Jan. 24, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences president Cheryl Boone Isaacs breathed a sigh of relief as the 2017 Oscar nominees were announced via streaming video.

For the first time in Oscar history, black nominees were represented in all four acting categories. And more than half the Best Picture nominees featured diverse casts. The Academy was still slammed for failing in other measures of diversity. But the milestone put to rest a running hashtag, #OscarsSoWhite, that dominated during the past two years when there were no black nominees in any major acting categories.

Again might be best for you just to do a little research before clicking that post button. 

When I see a statement where I see a black woman saying that black men are so disrespectful to black women I don’t take that as a slight against all black men and it doesn’t help if my feelings get hurt to point where I feel the need to say “well not all black men” “just the ones you know” or some other bullshit that ignores the problem. See that’s basically what happened right here someone feelings were hurt because they saw something and instead of speaking on the problem they rather speak on their hurt feelings.

When we do that we are belittling and not acknowledging what the problem is in the beginning. You bring up a good point because the reality situation is there are people who think like that and those people are the problem because they believe speaking up against what we have a problem with is a threat to them.

Just like how you have some niggas who feel that if a black woman talks about how her experience with disrespectful black men is a threat to him or slight against him.

You (or your parents) pay approx $40-$100 or higher for internet. 

So that you can all use youtube, google, Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, etc. etc. etc. This isn’t limited to social media.  

Net neutrality says, “Okay, since you already paid x amount of money for the month, you don’t have to pay for each asset individually. Enjoy your internet.”  NO net neutrality means that your service provider (comcast, at&t, verizon, whatever it may be) gets to say “ACTUALLY, it lines our pockets so give us an extra $5.99 for Youtube, Facebook and Twitter. Oh, but that doesn’t include Tumblr; that comes with our premium package. That’ll be $5.99 on its own as well. Now about your Google docs and email… 

That’s why it’s important. That’s why I’m spamming Net Neutrality crap. If you’re using the internet, it’s YOUR problem.

Haley Perea, a student at California Baptist University, is seen hurling her drink on the two men and saying: “Excuse me, this is for the national anthem you pieces of shit.”

Her classmate Savannah Sugg recorded the clip and uploaded it to Twitter the caption: “‘Take a kneel for the land of the slaves.’ Disrespect our flag and our country and that’s how we’ll react.”

Since they posted their video, it has also emerged that Perea has repeatedly tweeted the n-word:

There are a lot of people online currently calling for CBU to respond to what Perea and Sugg did, with some comparing to it discrimination from the Jim Crow era.

It’s getting worse and worse by the week.

These people actually took video of what they did and proudly uploaded it to Twitter. They think people peacefully protesting should be confronted with violence… These two gotta be charged with assault.
