Once Upon a Time in Norman

Thanks @taylorswift for writing a song that allowed my friends and I appropriately celebrate the new year, 3 hours early, because we have to get up early tomorrow.

I'm definitely Ready for It!

Shoutout to this amazing group of officers that have helped to make my first year in college so amazing! I will miss y'all being officers but I am so excited for the new officers and to see how the Lord moves in Phi Lamb in the next year! (at Common Ground)

It's amazing what can happen in the span of 5 years. I can't believe I am officially a Norman Wyldlife leader!

This past weekend has been one of the most emotional few days of my semester. It was so great to see and spend time with my Dad! It meant so much that he came up just to spend time with me and it was so much fun driving around Norman with him. Although we got lost looking for dinner restaurants (sadly multiple times), I was able to learn so much about Norman and was so glad that we could share those experiences together. I also was so glad that he was able to meet some of my friends and we were able to watch OU destroy Iowa State in football. We also played a mean game of Girls v. Fathers flag football. (I was of course MVP for the girls team, scoring all of our touchdowns!) I was so proud of my team, because we ended up tying, and was so glad that my Dad let me catch the last touchdown pass. My only regret is that the rest of my family was unable to come. It has been really hard for me lately and I have become very homesick. I have officially started counting down the days until Thanksgiving break (15 days) and I am preparing myself to get things done in a proactive manner so I hopefully will not have to deal with a ton of stress along with my homesickness. Fortunately, I am in the best sorority ever (ΣΦΛ)! I was reminded at chapter the true purpose of my life, Glorifying God and making his name great. I also was reminded of my need to trust God and to give him my all my burdens. I need to let go of my insecurities and trust that God's love and plan are enough for me. I hope to be reminded of this daily so that I may grow in my relationship with God and feel the satisfaction and love that comes with being in his presence.
