‘Teacher isn’t the first word that springs to mind when I think of Cody.’

“Kind of want to know what is the first word that would instead?”

“I mean… that’s pretty impressive given how easy it is to get distracted around here alone. So… I’d give you props.” 

“I also have a really short attention span so spending more than about five minutes working on this surprises me.”

“Hold on, you and…Cody?” Her eyes widened.

“Uhm yeah, for a couple of months now,”

‘That’s true. You might not wanna tell it on public television again. —— Kidding! Don’t sweat. We’ve all had our clumsy moments. I once gave myself concussion while filming the Vampire Diaries. I was screwing about in the stunt harness and it broke. That’ll teach me for eating three churros instead of one for breakfast.’

“Is there not that whole thing, celebrities should admit their mistakes because it makes them more relatable. Don’t worry about that one, I have a habit of finding random bruises where I’ve doing flips and shit as Spiderman and bump myself of things.”

VINNIE: Well, that’s what matters. That he’s good to you. We can’t all get along with each other. It would be an ideal world if we could, but when have we ever lived in one of those?

TOM: Yeah he's great with me, honestly I've never met anyone like him. Exactly despite our best efforts we will never please everyone

“Really good? That’s great. I’ve been alright, thanks.”

“Yep, me and Cody are together which makes this place amazing. That’s good to hear.”

VINNIE: Cody Fern? I don't think I've heard anyone use the words 'amazing' or 'wonderful' to describe him before.

VINNIE: But I trust you more than I trust rumours.

VINNIE: How long has this been going on?

TOM: A lot of people around here aren't a fan, but he's good to me

TOM: I really like him

“Spidermans got a boyfriend? Man I’m not up with the times. It’s good to see you, kid. I’m good, I’m good. Getting settled in over the past couple weeks. How ‘bout you? Things treating you kind?”

“Yes he does, spiderman has taken a different route. Yeah this place takes some time getting used to. I’ve been in big two years now and even I don’t feel fully in the know yet. Things are really good, I’m having the best time if I’m honest.”

“Phew, I’m relieved. Thanks, Tom. How’ve you been?”

“I’ve been really good, what about you?” 

“Y’know, I’ve only been here for a couple of weeks but I think I’m getting the hang of this place. Question though, what exactly do you all do for fun around here? I’m itching to get my feet moving.” The male asked after swallowing some of his food.

“I can’t believe you’ve been here this long and I haven’t seen you yet. Far to caught up with the boyfriend. How are you doing Bucky?”

‘Is this a true story or are you fucking with me?’

“It was before I was Spiderman but knowing that happened as Spiderman, it’s rather embarrassing.”

“Something like that,” she smiled lightly. “I take it you’re unarmed then?”

“Yup don’t worry I have no weapons, welcome back.”

Tom wasn’t wrong. — Their daughter seemed to get bigger and bigger everyday. Liz had heard parents talking about kids growing up too fast in the past and whenever she did, she rolled her eyes, but since becoming a mother herself? She was realising they were right all along. ‘I know,’ the woman hummed, reaching out to bop Callie’s nose. ‘Can you believe she’s six months old? We’ll be celebrating her 18th in no time.’

His own eyes were never leaving his daughters face, they may still be unsure of her true father still. However it didn’t matter not to any of them.
