Some time had passed since Matt had been sucked into the possibility of 'The Lab'. Having been given the run down by the four doctors and Professor Mercurius, the brunet had been enlisted to aid 'Ace' in their dives into the Sea of Possibility.
"The fact you lack the capacity to 'wield' an avatar, yet can still fight as yourself is rather peculiar... Any idea as to why?" Ace would ponder the other's unique ability. Though given the topic came up mid 'dive', they were speaking through the 'Avatar' of a green haired man. Matt seemed to be discomforted by the fact that one such avatar was that snake, but he would answer.
"Mercurius says it's some odd thing that can't affect me." given he wasn't a 'registered' part of this possibility, elsewise he would've had an avatar of his own when he saw Ace's 'selection process'. "But the fact you're able to use that power is impressive and intimidating."
As the two converse, they would be contending with various foes along the way. Machinery, ninja henchmen, you name it! Surprisingly, 'Ace' was very adapt at using their avatar's moveset to the fullest.
"So... What are these 'Possibility Shards', if you don't mind me asking?"
"Exactly as they sound... I've heard tales of 'Phenomena Fragments' as well, but Mercurius mentioned something about the world 'beyond' the lab." 'Beyond' implied there's something more to this entire 'place' than it seems.
"But sadly that's all I know... You'll hafta ask 'er yourself. I did wanna ask... You seemed to be very surprised seeing one of the avatars, that girl with the silver hair. What's that about?"
"..." there'd be a pause before he would answer "Where I'm from??? She's my mother." Ace would be taken aback by that fact... But he'd simply nod in understanding. They knew Matt was from another possibility, but this made things interesting.
Ace would soon open their avatar's eyes as he'd give notice, "Careful... We got enemies ahead, we're getting close to this fragment. Fox seems to be intent on getting us back in time for coffee. You ready?"
"More than ready, Ace..." Matt would stance up as they'd prepare to face their next foe... And after everything would be said and done, he had to wonder what the next excursion would be like. Especially if Ace was this adept at wielding the Avatars' respective powers.
