Introverted Sensing (Si): Catelyn operates entirely on her knowledge and experiences in all things; she is very proud of her heritage and the Stark family home, as well as respectful of the traditions of the north even if she doesn’t always agree with them. She adopted them as her own, and has a family-oriented mindset that places them first above all things. When recruiting others to her side, she recalls incidents from childhood and their former ties to win them over. Catelyn searches for the details of events in order to understand them, and takes nothing at face value. She reminiscences when prompted to share her thoughts.

Extroverted Feeling (Fe): She cannot conceal her true feelings about Jon Snow, nor her unhappiness in Ned’s perceived infidelity; she shares her feelings with him on these and many other topics, including his decision to go to King’s Landing. She shies away from violence and often wants to negotiate a more peaceful compromise rather than extend threats in order to get others to comply. She is capable of using charm to win others to her side, and appealing to their emotions to get them to do what she wants. Catelyn sometimes makes purely emotional decisions – like allowing Jamie Lannister to be returned to his family, hoping that will allow her children to remain safe.

Introverted Thinking (Ti): Her ability to analyze things comes in handy both in solving the events surrounding her son’s mysterious “fall” from the tower and in figuring out enemy strategies; Catelyn only shares her conclusions once she has researched all the evidence and thought about them at length. She can think her way around problems that seem insurmountable and provides a wise voice of reason to her son in the midst of his battles in the north.

Extroverted Intuition (Ne): Her concern over Ned going to King’s Landing is because she has a “bad feeling” about what might happen there; Catelyn is able to read others enough to sense there is much more than is evident in Bran’s fall. She also senses their betrayal at the Red Wedding, but by the time she puts the pieces together, it is too late.
