the idea that seeded this game in the first place was this random vision i got for a UI that fills nearly all of your available space with data and information you can barely make out, it being overwhelming on purpose to simulate

'being born' in a way

how infants when born, cry because living is so stressful, because moment before they were just another organ in their mothers body and now they have to breathe and see and hear and touch and comprehend and cry about everything

other things to note are

how unwieldy the rover should feel

the rover should feel deformed, uncomfortable and annoying

its body horror, in a way

you are born and you are forced into this ruthless world and this horrible body and you have no choice but to keep going

their story will be shown through the data you decrypt that is kept in your own hard drive

they will explain all the UI junk and controls to you in notepad messages and after that you can read their personal heartfelt letters towards you and their personal diary entries to discover more about them

their diaries will reveal that they're isolated from their family and horribly desperate for love

eventually you find that they used a piece of their own brain to make a machine capable of conscience, which makes them feel like they've created something horrible,

an unholy union between silicon frames and sacred flesh something like that

thats about it for them >ive thought about other characters but i dont wanna type it all out, maybe if someone tells me to i'll type it out for the fans

I don’t know enough words or have enough knowledge in literature to express how much this book has done to me

For my first novel it was a long and difficult read but I got through it after what feels like two years

I am physically restraining myself from writing a 2000 word essay about this book and how much I like it

It’s about the mind it’s about the deep corridors and infinitely winding rooms ending nothing but a blank facade - and crevices too small to enter- of the mind

The book impressively describes the house (what I interpreted as the human psyche) in a way that at the end of the book I was convinced the book WAS THE HOUSE ALL ALONG

Idk I don’t wanna ramble any further it’s just so good please read it and message me after you do (please I desperately need friends)
