George Hitchcock (1850-1913, American) ~ The Annunciation, n/d
Oh damn the Catholics have joined in on the war against AI "art".
As far as I'm aware, Catholic theologians and leaders are extremely concerned about AI. The consensus I have seen among theologians comes to this:
If it helps the human person and respects the dignity of the human person, it is acceptable (example: an AI method to detect or prevent early forms of cancer).
if it replaces the human person and/or disrespects the nature of the human person (art, human relationships, creativity) it is unacceptable.
“The Church, following the apostles, teaches that Christ died for all men without exception: ‘There is not, never has been, and never will be a single human being for whom Christ did not suffer.’” (CCC 605)

The cosmos flows from Christ's side, culminating in the Monstrance, the divine mystery of the Eucharist, through which we are invited to participate in holy union with Him 🌞

Pope Leo XIV may be aligning himself to the child pope Augustine, as they are both Chicago natives.
This is my reminder for you all:
Reject new-age practices.
Reject witchcraft.
Reject the heresy of Islam.
Reject anything that doesn't come from our Mother, the Holy Catholic Church!
That's all. Thank you.

pray for those who hate you
pray for those who mock you
pray for those who curse you
pray for those who belittle you
pray for those who laugh at you
pray for those who persecute you
pray for those who can't stand you
pray for those who would never pray for you.
Very, very important!
"... Christianity does not want us to reduce by one atom the hatred we feel for cruelty and treachery. We ought to hate them. Not one word of what we have said about them needs to be unsaid. But it does want us to hate them in the same way in which we hate things in ourselves: being sorry that the man should have done such things, and hoping, if it is in anyway possible, that somehow, sometime, somewhere, he can be cured and made human again."
C. S. Lewis, "Mere Christianity"
St. Thomas is just like me for real, because if the man I called Rabbi and believed to be the Messiah died in a truly traumatic way, if one of my close friends committed suicide, if the rest of my friends were grieving, then of course I'd go out and try to find food and manage the finances and try to be somewhat helpful. If I came back and my grieving friends told me that they saw our Rabbi, of course I wouldn't believe them. I saw Him die. They're in grief. I'm trying to do the best I can with what little I know.
And if the Risen Christ came back just for me, because He loves me enough to not only rebuke my lack of faith, but to also to renew it? To not only show me His wounds, but also to touch them? What else am I supposed to say but, "my Lord and my God"?
