i’ll just get on with the intro of catherine

tw: rape, murder, abuse.

catherine is the older sister to charlotte keller

growing up, she resented charlotte for the abuse their mother put them through ( bc char was born after their mother was raped )

after their mother was murdered, catherine & charlotte were moved to an orphanage until they turned eighteen

catherine then ran off to la with a boy she met & thought she loved

she absolutely loved la. she found so much muse & inspiration in the city.

everything was okay until she turned nineteen & her boyfriend became increasinly unhappy & began to take it out on catherine

he physically & mentally abused her ( it reminded her of her mother so much that she would just shut down every time it happened )

catherine only got out the day before her 21st birthday & the night he attempted to rape her

she returned to new hope in hopes of finding her sister & apologizing for everything ( for blaming her & then leaving )

it happened when cat moved into the house & found out her sister was living in the same place

but seeing her sister brought back all the old memories ( and made the new ones even worse ) so she didn’t run to her sister & beg for forgiveness like she intended to

but she makes sure to watch over charlotte as much as she can & make sure she doesn’t get herself into trouble

( random fact in the middle of all of this ) catherine loves to sketch & paint or draw with whatever she can get her hands on. it helped her create something beautiful in the midst of her chaotic life.

personality wise

she’s v closed off & guarded ( she can’t help it, it’s a defensive mechanism )

she can be blunt to others without really ever recognizing that she is

yelling & fighting send her into a zombie like state ( where she just folds in on herself & takes whatever is being thrown at her, even if the violence isn’t directed at her )

but she’s very passionate about the things she loves ( be it people or her love for sketching )

she rarely lets people in bc she’s so afraid that they’ll hurt her like her mother & boyfriend did
