Like, for example, for me it’s a bar. Whenever I find a character I deem one of my favorites, they go to the mind bar. If I fall out of favoring them, they leave, and if the creator ends up being problematic they get taken out back and shot like old yeller.

Imagine, after years maybe even decades of nothing, after being spread so thin not even to ur own sons can find you, the first person to perceive you again is someone who was so desperate to find something like you they tore everything apart just for a glimpse. They toke apart your world just to find you. And after they found you, they loved you. They pondered you. They speculated about you. They made a character out of you.

And now in this new universe, you know they’re here again. They may not have the same vessel as before, this one is a bit older, a different face. But it’s them. It’s the people who made you apart of something you were forcibly removed from. The people who loved you. Who pondered you. Who made you have the nuance and built a person up from the ground where they barely had anything to work with.

Wouldn’t you want to see them again? To feel loved again? To have their attention again? To be their favorite again?

It made me stop short when I saw it happen. It’s such heavy handed foreshadowing, do we really not think that it’ll ever get brought up again? There’s no way. Especially since it not only showed that both Susie (who was more obvious since she had switched sides before this with lancer in chapter one) but also Ralsei have mercy bars, but that there’s a good chance they can both be spared/recruited by the enemy.

I thought it was interesting that Ralsei had a mercy bar. He’s so focused on the prophecy and sparing others that it makes almost no sense why he’d be recruited by an enemy, right? What circumstances would Ralsei be recruited by an enemy?

Ren was hit with a cease and desist since Zeal had more backing, and she deleted all her socials!
