“Okay. Then … yeah. That’s be nice. Thank you.” 

“Then let’s dance.”

“Would your date be okay with that?” 

“Yeah, she’d be fine with it.”

“But it’s happened before – us not talking for a little bit. And I did have to go somewhere. And I was talking to someone else. It’s just … yeah.”  

“Usually, when it happens, one of us is mad at the other? Seriously, what’s up?”

“Weird? I haven’t been acting weird.” 

“We don’t usually go a whole week without talking, even when I’m busy with Charming Business... and last time we did talk, you had to go out of no where. Oh and you did just bite my head off about how you weren’t talking to me so... that’s all a bit strange.”

“It’s fine, Caspian. I get it.” 

“I wanted to ask you... why have you been acting so... weird?”

“As it is every year with your family’s ball.” 

“Yeah, and somehow every year I’m blindsided by it.”

“So you so graciously decided to come bother me instead.” 

“I’ve been wanting to talk to you all week, it’s just been crazy busy around here.”

“You have a date, don’t you? You should probably be focusing on that instead of whether I’m here or not.” 

“I’m pretty sure my date is with her parents making the hello rounds.”

“I’ll ask her to dance later, okay?”

“whatever you say.”

“It was the guy I’d been talking with, but apparently he decided to run off the second you got over here.” 

“Well I’m sorry for chasing off.... the guy that I didn’t see. But I would notice if you left.”

“And? That still doesn’t mean it was meant for you, nosy.” 

“Then who were you talking to?”

“I’m not pouting, shut up.”

“I can see your face. You’re definitely pouting, Camden.’

“I’m not pouting.”

“You’re definitely pouting.”

“I … I wasn’t talking to you.” 

“You... said it loud enough for me to hear”

“I know I can. I might. I haven’t really decided.”

“Cause the pouting thing is kind of creepy.”
