♕ —- Impatiently, James bounced on the balls of his feet. He wondered for a moment that she might have headed to class that morning and the thought crossed his mind to check there but would she even want him to show up there. Admittedly, he wasn’t even sure that she wanted him here at her place because they weren’t exactly friends… in fact, he wasn’t really sure what they were. She didn’t hate him, he knew that much. But he wasn’t sure if seeing him now was going to help. He just knew he wanted to make sure that she was okay and that he wanted to be there for her.

♕ —- Then, the door opened and James raised his hand in an awkward wave. “Lily,” he replied unsure of what to make of her use of his first name. He shoved his hands into the front pockets of his trousers as he pushed past his nerves. “I wanted to make sure you were okay,” he continued as he found his voice. “I mean, I know… Well, I don’t know what you’re feeling but, I just wanted to check in. You were there for me when you didn’t have to be… so I’m here… Can I come in?”

I  DON’T  KNOW  WHAT  YOU’RE  FEELING  BUT   ,  I  JUST  WANTED  TO  CHECK  IN     .     the  words  that  drip  from  his  lips  are  like  a  wave  of  relief  in  her  chest     ,     words  that  she  didn’t  know  she  wanted  to  hear  but  without  him  even  realising     ,     he  had  told  her  what  she  needed     .     someone  to  check  on  her     .     the  ginger  muggleborn  had  a  habit  of  self  -  sabotage  and  left  on  her  own  in  moments  like  this  could  lead  to  disaster     ,     in  moments  of  stress     ,     in  moments  of  anxiety     ,     in  moments  of  fear      ,     lily  was  known  to  shut  down     ,     the  only  time  it  didn’t  happen  was  her  studies     ,     she  could  control  those     ,     this  moment  she  felt  out  of  control  and  didn’t  know  how  to  fix  that     .

♕ —- Saying it had been a long day would have been an understatement. A massive one. The ministry had all it’s aurors in the alley trying to clean up the mess that Evangeline could have told them was going to happen when they spent so much time sweeping everything under the rug. The magical world, once again, was a powdered keg and this was just going to the one of many explosions that was bound to happen. Stepping into the pub, she made her way to the bar top and ordered herself a drink. It wasn’t long before she was joined by another and her jaw set. “Do I really look like I want to be hit on right now,” she asked the stranger as she cut them with her green eyes. “What do you want?”

a laugh escapes her lips as she helps lily pick up the books gathering a few in her hands. the girl always seemed to have some sort of books with her, didn’t? they weren’t even in school anymore! “it really has, you need to stop hiding from me, i know i’m a scary monster now, but i promise i won’t do anything stupid anymore.” she says with a shrug as she stares down at the book titles. “what are you doing with all these books anyways?” 

maybe this shows that doris hasn’t been around many kids in a while as she watches the mother pull the child away from the quidditch shop. “my mother used a chankla for other purposes other than putting them on your feet so i guess i see what you mean.” she says with a shrug before crossing one leg over the other as she sat on the bench. “i didn’t grow up in a big family or whatever so i don’t really know how to act around younger children sometimes, what about you?” 

To his credit, Amycus laughed (and loudly) but didn’t argue. He liked the reputation he held as an idiot and a savage, and didn’t need people who hadn’t been subjected to living in close quarters with him knowing he wasn’t. “I was thinking more like a picture, you know?? And then I wouldn’t need you to proof read it for me.” He hopped off of the desk he occupied though, parting with the men with low fives and dirty comments, and made his way to Rita with another grin. “There’s always dirt, it really just comes down to whether we’re on or off the record today. What if your dirt is tastier than mine? Suddenly I’ll find myself labelled a bad friend, and only a passably decent source, can’t have it.”

♕ —- The news had broke that morning, James hadn’t even finished his tea before he was pulling on his jacket and apparating out of the Potter home. He wasn’t sure she was going to want to see him that moment but he didn’t care; he just wanted to make sure that she was okay. He made his way up the front steps of the flat and ran his fingers through his hair before he pressed the buzzer by Lily and Mary’s names. He took a deep breath and glanced down at his watch not sure if she was even home. He took a step back and looked up at the building to see if he could see any sign of her being home. “Come on, Evans,” he muttered to himself.

the  news  of  a  body  had  broken  that  morning     ,     the  news  that  it  was  a  muggleborn     ,     had  broken  after     .     the  news  that  it  had  been  a  planned  attacked  by  the  looks  of  things     ,     had  set  the  muggleborn  herself  on  edge     .     there  was  no  rhyme  or  reason  given  for  the  death  of  the  young  girl     ,     no  logical  explanation  but  the  work  of  a  twisted  soul     .     and  the  news  of  this  had  sent  a  chilling     ,     mind  numbing  fear  through  lily’s  body     (     for  not  only  herself     ,     though  that  she  cared  little  for     ,     but  for  her  friends     )     the  girl  had  barricaded  herself  in  the  apartment     ,     safety  felt  unreachable  at  this  time  and  right  now     ,     as  she  sat  alone     ,     ginger  kneezle  on  her  lap     ,     every  little  sound  set  her  teeth  on  edge     .     was  she  being  silly     ?

she  couldn’t  help  but  feel  the  heavy  dread  in  her  chest     ,     it  was  a  tragic  thing  to  happen     ,     one  perhaps  she  was  too  naive  too  imagine     ,     she  thinks     .     the  wizarding  world  was  safe     ,     the  wizarding  world  didn’t  have  things  like  this  happen     ,     they  hadn’t  happened  in  decades     .     and     ,      yet     ,     it  has  come  to  the  death  of  an  innocent     ,     she  just  keeps  twirling  her  thoughts  around  the  cycling  images  in  the  daily  prophet     .     the  flash  of  an  arm  escaping  a  carry  bed     ,     bloodied  and  bruised     ,     it  stained  her  thoughts     .     she  was  stuck  in  a  loop  of  fear     .     she  feared  for  mary     ,      mary  who  wasn’t  home     ,     mary     (     who  she  knows  is  safe     ,     she  knows  the  girl  would  be  in  a  safe  space     ,     though  she’d  prefer  her  at  home     .     )     she  feared  for  her  friends     ,     she  didn’t  know  where  dorcas  or  marlene  were     ,     but  they  were  smart     ,     they  were     .     lily  moved  herself  from  her  spot     ,     alternating  between  pacing  and  chewing  her  nails     ,     maybe  even  both  at  the  same  time     .     she  moved  to  the  sink     ,      picking  up  the  kettle  on  her  way  past     .      maybe     ,     it  would  calm  her     .

Life was dry and boring during the weekends for Augustine. Every Saturday and Sunday, Augustine could be found at Borgin and Burkes, helping customers and looking over dangerous or cursed artifacts. Truthfully, it was a little boring for her and she longed to be training in the Greenhouse at Tauxmarts - it was relaxing for her, and she could forget about her father’s shop there. As she flipped through the latest edition of Witch Weekly, Augustine failed to hear the bell to indicate a new customer in the shop, until the person was right in front of her desk. She closed the magazine, tossed it to the side, and gave her attention to the new customer, forcing a fake smile. “Merlin, sorry - I didn’t notice the bell. Hi, welcome to Borgin and Burkes, how may I help you?”

“It’s beautiful,” Cora said, running a hand over the lace of the dress. It shone in the shop’s light, embroidered stars really living up to their name. “But I don’t think gold really suits me, you know?”

♕ —- With no urgency or need to get anywhere, Edmund strolled through the maze of cobbled streets looking through the shop windows. Something in the Quidditch shop window had caught his eye and he stopped to take a look. When he stilled, something in his pocket shifted and soon peeked their scaly head out to get a view. He raised a brow and glanced down. Before he could get the little dragon back into safety of his pocket, he could feel eyes on him. He turned to them and chuckled. “This is Pierre, he’s too young to even breathe fire. He got abandoned for being so little,” he explained. “Do you want to say hello?”

♕ —- Daisy was so happy to be back in town. She had missed the magical world and more importantly, she had missed magic. With her tea in hand, she made her way to Flourish and Blotts to get herself a new read for her afternoon off. But instead of her attention being pulled to a new story, she found herself being greeted by her own image in the window. And a rather large image at that. “Merlin’s fucking beard,” she muttered before she quickly pushed her way through the door. She snatched the window display from the easel that it sat on and pressed the image to her chest. She glanced over to see that she wasn’t alone. “Nothing to see here, just fixing a problem. This is not the droid you’re looking for.”

Work had been long and exhausting. There was about five incidents he himself had to deal with and frankly he hated going to the muggle world. Honestly, he thought they were far more careful than that but apparently not. Stolas let out a sigh, unbuttoning his collar and loosening his tie as leaned back in his seat. A drink was definitely deserved, not that he needed a reason to drink. The male watched as someone helped themselves to the seat beside him at the table. "On a scale of one to ten how important is it that you needed to interrupt my peace and quiet?”
