Happy birthday!

            my  lungs  breathe  like  theirs  .  my  body  bleeds  like  theirs  .  i  look  at  the  same  starts  as  they  do  .  yet  they  treat  me  -  and  all  my  people  -  like  animals  .  animals  whose  life  is  worth  less  than  anything  else  .  we  get  beaten  .  shot  down  .  as  if  they  can’t  bear  to  see  anything  different  .  anything  not  made  like  them  .  some  lived  and  died  for  our  freedom  .  some  technology  replaced  limbs  and  organs  .  to  save  the  lives  of  the  people  they  belong  to  .  we  lived  side  by  side  .  now  this  turned  into  a  witchhunt  .  we  are  being  killed  for  living  .  they  end  lives  and  excuse  it  by  saying  ‘  they’re  machines  .  machines  don’t  bleed  ‘  .     (  art  cred  )
