a/n: there is a LOT of symbolism in this piece. just about everything except the medium (paper and pen) was intentional. i’m really happy with this one :) key words i was thinking when making it were fire, haze, solidity, absence, presence, defiance, resilience, and history.

first of all let me say: TYSM FOR 50 FOLLOWERS!! it makes me so giddy to know that 50 of you like me stuff that much!! seriously it is a huge honor i love you all <33

secondly: sooooo i haven’t posted anything since august BECAUSE: i am currently in the process of editing and illustrating a short story i wrote !! it’s not very long, ~4k words, but it’s a story about selkies (and mother/daughterhood)

i’ll be posting excerpts here once the editing and illustrations are finished! the full story (titled SELKIE) will be available purchase at a local bookstore as a zine/short story (not dropping the location here for internet safety reasons) BUT if anyone feels SUPER strongly about being able to read the whole thing just shoot me a dm and we can work something out!! only reason i’m not posting the entire thing here is that it’s long for a text post— not because I don’t want people reading it! But if there’s enough interest, I honestly could post the entire thing! We’ll just see how things go!

A/N: watched Bambi the other day and it always made me sad as a kid when Bambi grew up bc i liked his spots but i also liked his antlers. you’ll never believe how excited I got when i found out Fallow deer existed
