Life hack. If when you get "feel good" tipsy/drunk you always seem to be doing things out of the norm for you, guess what, that's probably the real you. If you are always talking about quiting your job to become a (fill in blank here), guess what, you're probably in the wrong career field. Or you are describing creative things you would do "if only you had talent" and it's always the same form of expression, guess what, you're probably a (painter, writer, poet, etc...) who needs to work on their craft (hardly anyone is born great). If you're always flirting with a person who has what you would normally (if you're sober) classify as non-attraction compatible components, then guess what, you may be bi/gay/pan.
Now by no means am I suggesting that you make life altering decisions while under the influence of choice, but you should LISTEN to yourself. When your inhibitions are down the parts of you that you keep locked up sneak out. They are being inhibited after all. Now these are not always the one true path to follow but they are things that you, the real you, are interested/curious about. In the sober light of the day you should take these out and examine them. Think about why you may have hidden them away (societal peer pressure, familial expectations, fear of failure, etc..) and maybe see about dipping a toe in the water.
You will never regret trying and deciding "It was a nice thought but not really for me." more than you will "What if?" or "Shit, I wish I realized this about myself in my 20s".
You only have one life with no fixed end date. Live it for yourself and not the expectations of others.
Peace Loves
Cassie
