On July 19, 1972 the body of an unidentified woman was discovered in the eastern area of Hernando County, FL near Highway 50 and I-75. It is highly possible the woman had recently traveled from Alabama or north Florida. The white female is described as being 30 to 40 years of age, approximately 5`0" tall, 125-145 lbs., and short brown hair. She had six upper and six lower teeth. The woman was found wrapped in a bedspread with a distinctive pattern, possibly a "Pineapple Damask" print. There were three square corners and one rounded corner. On Tuesday, October 9 at 1645hrs, a male citizen discovered skeletonized human remains in the City of Alexandria. Total weight of remains: 29lbs. The location was a wooded area behind an automotive business off King Street. The decedent was found beside a fallen tree on a brush and vine-covered slope behind the business. The surrounding area contained scattered trash, blankets, and clothing. The decedent was nearly skeletonized with minimal mummified tissue and adipocere remaining. Clothing present on or immediately beside the remains included an unbuttoned shirt (white with pink stripes), blue socks, and a black hat. Two people were recreationally in the woods when they discovered the scattered remains. The bones were scattered in an area measuring approximately 40-50 feet.
