… You see what I’m saying? 😓 We only have eight episodes each season, and even though the timeline will at least slow down, adding more would be way too much lore dumping to handle.

And why do I think the overlord’s (besides Rosie and Valentino), should at least have their backstories revealed in Season 4? I think Zestial and Carmilla getting more focus in a season with Velvette along with other overlords we haven’t fully gone over yet would be awesome, and honestly I think that type of lore dumping can be squeezed in this season. I know the logo for season 4 is gold which implies Heaven is heavily involved this time around, but like I said, it is a Velvette season, and we don’t know if there’s any more big lore dumps or dramas in that season, so it’s possible for the other overlords to finally get the spotlight in some shape or form.

I love Cherri

I will admit in the show she has been more of a plot device than a character though I wouldn't say that's inherently a bad thing. Every story has suporting characters where there only job is to push the plot forward and theres nothing wrong with that. Normally it becomes a problem when the only roll a female charter is aloud to have is suporting roll. In hazbin female characters take on all roll protagonist, antagonist, comic relief, romantic lead, best friend, ect.

I also think that any outher story would have mad her out as the "bad friend" the" junkie" who's trying maliciously to stop Angel's progress. Think Jessie's girl friend in Breaking Bad. That's the roll drug addicts who don't want to get better normally get cast as. At best tragic at worst evil

The way she's presented does add emotional complexity to Angel's addiction. She isn't wanting to hurt Angel she's worried about him. She understands that he's trapped in this well hellish situation and she knows she cant kill Val. Hell I'm sure she tried. The only thing she can think to do to help Angel in the present moment is offer him escape mentality. She wants him to not waste his free time thinking about Val becuase he only gets so much of it. She is genuinly comeing from a place of love.

It is also a great roll reveral to have the young female friend being like "Yeah bro fuck feeling your feelings bottoms up right?" and Husk his older male friend being like "What if we tried talking about out feelings?". Double points because Husk is the love intrest.

I do also love how it's not even a question how physically strong she is. Like Val and throw a man she she can beat him up.

Her relationship with Pentious is also intresting. I do think it's one of the least exciting romances in the show in no small part becuse there's the least amount of conflict to it. It also is extreamly trope heavey. It is clasic enemys to lovers and as Sam pointed out there not even in lovers there missing being enemys. Piss is a great song 10/10. Agin I don't think theres anything wrong with it being trope heavey. It does it's job and it's not ment to be the most exciting relationship. Hazbin seems self aware that the more complext the more intresting the more intresting it is and so they give the more complext ones more atention. Which the more complex ones also need more time.

Also I do love how Cherri is a classic Bi Scene girl and Pentious is a sickly Victorian boy.

Every Bi Scene girl loves pethedic Victorian boys its nice that the Victorian boy likes her back.

Also I really like the way she struggles with her feelings about him in season 2. It feels very real and not like stereotypical.

That conflict alone held more tension than the entire Gothel plot held together. Imagine the trauma that comes from having your hand burnt to a crisp? And your best friend being the one responsible for it?

Yeah, me neither.

TTS had so much going for Rapunzel and Cassandra’s conflict with that addition. The emotional and psychological trauma on both sides could have made the conflict a beautifully complex situation, as nobody is fully in the right or in the wrong either. On one hand, you have Rapunzel. She didn’t mean to burn her best friend’s hand and leave her handicapped for the rest of her life. But that doesn’t change the fact that she still caused the injury, and she can’t change that.

Cassandra, on the other hand, bears the physical and psychological cost of the injury. She knows, logically, that it was only an accident. But she can’t separate Rapunzel from her trauma. This festers and leaks into their relationship for the rest of the journey, until Cassandra reaches the tipping point after meeting Zhan Tiri in The House of Yesterday’s Tomorrow (I guess the Gothel twist can be kept, but I would personally prefer to replace it with something else entirely).

I mean like Knight’s Tale “chanting Queen at the jousting tournament ‘foxy lady’” levels of anachronism. Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters with Hansel injecting himself with insulin and Gretel wielding a multiple-shot crossbow levels of anachronism. Go for Blazing Saddles, Blackadder, Jack of All Trades, Connecticut Yankee levels of anachronism

I think the main influence on Lydia Bennet is her mother, who enables her behaviour. I don't see Kitty as much of an enabler but a follower. Lydia might be able to get up to less shenanigans without Kitty, because the girls often travel in pairs and I think Lydia going out alone would be frowned upon even by her permissive parents, but I don't think she needs Kitty's encouragement to do anything.

Also Lydia gets up to her worst actions while away from Kitty, so maybe Kitty was a dampener of her worst ideas, not an enabler. We don't know exactly what Kitty and Lydia are whispering at Netherfield before they ask Mr. Bingley to host a ball, but it's possible Kitty was saying it was too forward and Lydia went for it anyway.

The two girls had been whispering to each other during the whole visit; and the result of it was, that the youngest should tax Mr. Bingley with having promised on his first coming into the country to give a ball at Netherfield.
