When I look at a sunset, when I hear the songs of the ocean gulls, when I feel the warmth of family and friends, I am reminded of a story that is bigger than I am.

I love the night sky. It reminds me of how small and insignificant I and my problems are in light of the infinite. When I look at the stars I feel like myself.

God’s Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle and self-controlled.

Christianity is not a matter of persuading people of particular ideas, but of inviting them to share in the greatness of Christ. So pray that I may never fall into the trap of impressing people with clever speech, but instead I may learn to speak with humility, desiring only to impress people with Christ Himself.

…and there was the sea between us again.

There will be a time, not so far from now, where you look back on this phase of your life and instead of condemning it or beating up on it, instead of blaming or guilting, you will feel appreciation for it, because you will understand that a renewed desire for life was born out of this time period that will bring you to physical heights that you could not have achieved without the contrast that gave birth to this desire.

If you have been brutally broken, but still have the courage to be gentle to others then you deserve a love deeper than the ocean itself.

You were made for more than just pain.
