Black-backed jackal.

It’s interesting to me that my first attempt (left) is possibly better than my most recent attempt (right). I guess it was beginner’s luck. I did get the nasal bones back in better in the last one though. The ones in between these were kind of… not good. These are muskrat skulls I cleaned, whitened, and carved. 

So behind the house I’m staying in is a network of trails, and the old woman who maintains them places little oddities all over. It feels very mystical and mysterious back there.
