it fucking pisses me off too that across all video games and tv shows and even fucking art not a single fucking person fucking respects revelations enough to break from US Christian narratives and recognize 

When a Protestant hegemonic society uses scripture in a way to distance themselves from imperial conquest, it is not rooted in Jewish interpretation, or of it is it is through the use of Jewish tradition as a crutch to de-legitimize the Apostolic Churches.

Furthermore, since we’re quoting wikipedia:

Under another interpretation, the first horseman is called Pestilence, and is associated with infectious disease and plague. It appears at least as early as 1906, when it is mentioned in the Jewish Encyclopedia.[10]The interpretation is common in popular culture references to the Four Horsemen.[11]

It’s the difference between “witch/wizard”, “mage, magician”, and “sorcerer/sorceress” in English basically.

el brujo or la bruja is typically “witch” or “wizard” or “warlock” in English. As an adjective brujo/a means “captivating” or “bewitching”. Also related is la brujería “witchcraft”

And for reasons I’m not TOTALLY sure of, la casa embrujada is “haunted house” but more literally “bewitched house”… I’m not exactly sure how witches came to be linked to ghosts/spirits except if we’re talking about necromancy, but I guess it’s easier than saying something like “enfantasmado” or something? Also I guess witches are linked to dark spirits so maybe that’s why. But growing up ghosts and witches were very separate things in my mind.

And hechicero/a is “sorcerer” or “sorceress” which is related to el hechizo which is potentially “a spell” or “a hex”. Related is hechizar “to cast a spell on” or “to hex”, and la hechicería “sorcery”

Smarmy got on PU a couple of months ago and kept “calling out” Soloontherocks, who had been blogging about Star Wars pretty steadily since about November, generally leaving the pagan community to its own devices, etc. Solo told Smarmy to fuck off, and told the Kemetic community to come collect its trash, since they were always moaning about “whaaa Solo’s MEAN”. Smarmy responded with “Omg how rude, look how awful Solo is how could they”. This continued for a week or two and finally Solo was like “enough” and the usual drama-filled death-match commenced. This ended in Smarmy claiming that Solo was harassing her, so Solo told her to stay off their blog and don’t mention them on her blog. Smarmy did not oblige. Continued to claim harassment. Solo has statcounter and asked why Smarmy kept visiting their blog. Smarmy was like “what no I’m not that isn’t me, I haven’t visited your blog in like months what are you talking about?” Solo posted a screenshot of her IP address like “really?” And Smarmy thought that meant that she’d be doxxed, started claiming legalities that don’t exist against Solo. Solo was like “I didn’t dox you, but jsyk I could because you have left your shit all out in the open holy shit” and actually offered to help protect her information. Smarmy wasn’t having it “stop saying you could dox me I’m calling the police that I hate to arrest you!” Solo’s like “okay bud don’t blame me when someone actually doxxes you.”

Meanwhile, I personally made a couple of untagged posts on MY blog about how important it is to ME to show deference and subservience to MY Gods. Hyacinth-halcyon and Answersfromvanaheim got butthurt about it and started making posts about how you don’t have to listen to your gods or obey them or anything like that, while several bloggers continued to talk about how bad of a person I am for being a “blind sheep” to MY Gods. The Kemetic Fandom got involved, because of course they did, namely thetwistedrope and our good pal smarmy. TTR went on their usual soapbox about how Kemetics don’t have to show their gods any respect and how terrible Hellenics are for talking about hubris. Smarmy decided to lie and say she punched Ares in the face. Hellenics objected. Answersfromvanaheim and TTR turned that into the entire Kemetic community being victimized by the entire Hellenic community.

Smarmy is still complaining about Solo doxxing her. Kamonra finally gets fed up and actually doxxes Smarmy because A) she’s still being annoying and B) she’s now disrespecting other peoples’ religions after whining for weeks about Hellenics applying hubris to Kemeticism. Smarmy blames Solo for the dox and retaliates by doxxing a random person in Florida.
