The swigs of beer kept getting larger and our group bigger. The self awareness of being in an elite pub dwindled and we gave in to our wilder spirits. As our darkest thoughts dispersed us to manageable sizes, the constraint of space became ever so evident. In a drunken blaze of "What the fuck can happen?" we lit a joint in the smoking room. To our joy the other 2 couples sitting there were amused, with the men boasting about their youthful heyday debaucheries. The grass passed, tension sliced and laughter shared. Just at the end, the butler came in and politely asked us to stub it and leave. Surprisingly he only had a problem with my friend who was holding the joint and seemed fine with serving the rest of us. There were no raised voices, rhetorics on our actions, moral policing and what not.

Calcutta is a city that accepts everything and asks very little in return, like dont step on other peoples toes.
