Spirituality and ascension (which is often the goal of spiritual systems) shouldn’t be used as a way of escapism. Yes we understand that the physical universe is “illusionary” but it’s only illusionary in the sense that it’s an imperfect and unbalanced expression of what was originally a perfect thought. It is still a very real thing in the sense of what we understand as reality.
