sharon carter is not and has never been “just Captain America’s girlfriend”. In fact she’s actually the one always turning him down when he wants to start the relationship because she wants to focus on her career. and then years down the line sharon was the one who proposed to him.
sharon carter once shot a man to preserve Steve’s morality so he wouldn’t have to live with that weight on his shoulders.
Sharon is an abuse survivor. (Both mentally and sexually). She was tortured and imprisoned and went through a very human arc where she dealt with the impact of these events.
