I've decided to pull a rebel move and planned 3 projects to write during NaNoWriMo! Two will have a goal of 20k words each and one will have a goal of 10k words. Let's see if this official first-timer can do it!!!

Obviously one of the projects will be Carnival Demise (sshh, I already reached 10k words), and the other will be a rewrite of a romance story about a young man in love with the new man his ex has become. The other story, the shorter one, is also a rewrite from an exact year ago; this is a thriller about two serial killers who accidentally kidnap each other. I didn't like the original storyline and decided I wanted to try and rewrite it this time.

Any one else doing the same thing? Something similar? Have past experience to share? Lemme know!

Found an outline process that works for me. Problem is it’s the 25th in Preptober and I’ve already gotten 10,400 words in my novel already. Time for extreme renovation at 1am, a week before NaNoWriMo.

Almost forgot to mention: after writing in 8 chapters, I decided to switch from narrating his name from “Ollie” to “Oliver,” keeping only Victor and Ruby to say Ollie while Furis calls him Jones and Tom will call him “Sir” (because he is just an underling assistant, according to Ollie).

I had to ctrl+f and go through all 200+ “Ollie” and “Ollie’s,” ignoring Victor’s and Ruby’s use of his nickname.

But that had helped me to realize how often I write their names into the story. That’s not a good thing if it was only 24 pages with 200+ “Ollie” written everywhere. I will be keeping that in mind while I write! Maybe I should narrate more and indicate who I’m narrating?

When I outline, I usually separate everything into 3 acts following a template I have saved on my computer. As of this novel, I had to split it into 7 acts... Haha that’s a lot for me, for the first time...

The entire first part of my novel has been outlined and polished (until it sorta staggers in the end), but the entire second part has nothing. I decided I’m going to pants that part (writer’s term for going in without a solid outline, but sorta with ideas). that’s because i still have no idea how they’re going to fight and win this battle...

So far, Act 1 has been written! 8 chapters and 10,014 words total!!
