last weekend kathryn & i went to the botanic gardens to draw. we ended up spending our time inspecting the underside of ferns for seed pods & harassing the poor mimosa pudica instead. after warming up with a coffee & wandering in some late afternoon sunshine however, i did a sketch which turned into the above. my favourite part of the gardens is house 6 - the palm house - which is the tallest space within the glasshouses. it’s quite easy to forget you’re in the middle of glasgow when you’re under a dense canopy of enormous tropical leaves.
