When you came barreling into my life, your form that of a shooting star burning on the horizon, you enchanted me with your all encompassing beauty and striking presence. I had not thought it possible to be so utterly enraptured. 

Such hope you had given me! For in that moment I knew that my dreams and aspirations were not in vain; how could they be when I felt as though my heart was one with the heavens, even if for only a fleeting moment?

With every transformation since, your beauty has merely multiplied, from the moonlight dancing on the tips of your feathers to the effortless gleam of your horns. You shine as though you never fell from grace; you merely took that grace inside you and allowed it to illuminate this dark world of mine.

The stars do not shine on you; they shine from within you.

You have left me breathless day after day, and your magnificence has lingered in the back of my mind during all of my bureaucratic proceedings. Everything about you is admirable, from the way you perform your duty to your brothers to the way you take my own duties off of my shoulders. You are my sanctuary, the one on whom my mind and heart can always depend upon.

Your self assured pride has kept me steadfast when my own will has wavered, and it has allowed you to step atop the pedestal that I have been placed atop so that we may stand parallel, revering one another. In truth, you deserve to sit atop a gilded throne as much as I, if not more.

You have given so much for my success and happiness, and I would give the same to you a thousand times over. I will need you until the end of time. Even when time ceases, I will need you. 

You have entangled your being with my own; our colors run together, inseparable shades of vermillion and ebony. Without you, my image is incomplete, my bed is empty, my heart is cold.

A lifetime such as ours is conducive to as many loves as there are days in a century, but no love has been as all encompassing and consistent as you. Even after every spat and disagreement, we have reunited, and I have been overjoyed. I simply cannot stop coming back to you. 

I want nothing more than to be by your side until the final flicker of our candles, your unwavering loyalty remaining so long as I swear to you my unwavering love. It is said that behind every powerful figure is a far more powerful partner, but it has never truly been my heart's desire for you to stand behind me. I have found joy in every sigh, every denial, every time your proud eyes met mine and told the crown prince “no”. With every kindness and every cruelty, I have loved you. In truth, have relished kneeling before you.  

It may not be today, and it may not be in the next thousand years, but one day the nobles and the devildom as a whole will see how Satan prospers as a leader. They will accept the idea of an heir to the throne not being of blood relation to the sitting monarch. They will see their king regent and king consort standing side by side from coronation to the mausoleum, and peace and prosperity will supersede the distrust that has blossomed in their hearts.
