Every night my cat sleeps between my legs.. she finds a way to find the most comfy spot over the blanket, where she puts her body weight on only one of my leg which by chance I move pisses her off. Its cute how even if I move, she gives me time to adjust from the numbness of my leg, almost like showing me empathy and then asking me "are you done yet, can you please fix a position now, so that I can sleep!". Sweet, isn't it!?
But it's been 3 days since she changed her spot. Now she sleeps... over my head, slowly moving right next to my head. They say all these sleeping positions in a cat means that she thinks you're her child and she is the mother. So I started calling her 'Mumma'.
The thing is... she doesn't sleep, she rest as I fall asleep. Almost like an angel guarding me. Those nights when I am awake binge watching on netflix, she looks at me with a lot of confusion. Why aren't you sleeping? she ask me, with her pink nose and beautiful eyes glaring at me. As much as I would love to have a conversation with her, in words, I find it amusing how we can still talk to each other in our own language.
Let's come back to the 4th day. I happen to be in a cleaning mode, the de-stress mode. I love the new contemporary look I've given to my bedroom. The beige bedsheet, soft pillows, a plant sanctuary of my own outside the window etc etc. While changing my bedsheet, near the crevices of the bed, where I usually have my pillow supporting my head, popped a you know who! A cockroach! Yikes!! The cleanliness freak in me was shook. I immediately took my footwear and spanked the living dead out of the bug.. and there he was lying on the floor. Ewwww!
I picked him up and threw him in the dustbin after I confirmed that he was dead! Nope! Not a fan of Zombies! As I came back, I saw something strange. My cat looked rather sad. She kept looked at the place where the bug popped out from and was in silence. I was confused. I went close to her and asked " Did I just kill your friend?" Well, she didn't say anything. There was a melancholic feeling within me. I further interrogated her, " Did you sleep on top of my head every night to protect me or to have a visit to your friend?". Again, no reply. And here I was left more gloomy.
Well.. All I can say is you never know, cats can be weirder than humans! Hope you enjoyed reading about my cat. Sayonara!
