Day 4: Belgian Food Well aside from Belgian beers, Belgian Waffles and Frites are a must! Needles to say I was tipsy and full while exploring Brussels today. (at Place des Palais)

Day 4: Brussels, Belgium Fortunate enough to be here in Brussels while the 19th Belgian Beerweekend is taking place. I got to drink all these delicious Belgian beers all in one place, Grand Place. What a great way to start my sojourn in Brussels! (at La Grand-Place De Bruxelles)

Day 3: Ghent, Belgium Once an influential medieval city situation in the Flanders region, Ghent, is well on its way on making itself known to the world again. Ghent'a rise to prominence and it's eventual decline has and is always been due to its rebellious nature. From the establishment of the city to the commencement of the industrial revolution in the European mainland, Ghent has and is continually defying its oppressors and expectations. I definitely did not think I would be captivated by this medieval town but Ghent has definitely defied my expectations. Day 3: Arrival... to Belgium Left Amsterdam by train to Belgium. First stop Ghent (via Antwerp)

Day 2: Dutch Food After more than a day, I have finally had some Dutch food! Amsterdam, being a cosmopolitan city, is littered with foreign restaurants ranging anywhere from Mexican, Argentinian, Italian and Indian. I must say finding an authentic Dutch restaurant in the heart of amsterdam was a struggle. Thank god Moeder's (Mother's), a diner designed to pay homage to mothers all over the world (the diner is literally full of pictures of mothers given by customers all over the world), came to my needy stomach's rescue.
