Avar Kriss drifted into their circle like the first day of spring, unexpected and welcome. She was fiercely talented and courageous, their whetstone - challenging them, sharpening them.

Elzar Mann was intense and clever and endlessly distracted. He too often found ways into and out of trouble.

something something about how all of this was literally conveyed in a single look, in the finale.
