J7 AU where Janeway is swept into the DQ chasing the Maquis vessel. When they’re able to communicate, she’s shocked to find that the captain of the smaller vessel is an ex-B named Seven. When the two captains meet at a very tense conference, she learns that Seven was deassimilated by the Bajorans and has joined their cause.

The ex-B Maquis’ attitude and disregard for hierarchy frustrate and attract Janeway in equal measure. She finds herself inviting the woman to become her Number One and tries to repress her increasingly unprofessional feelings when she sees Seven in the Starfleet uniform.
