so here are the top 12 in no particular order, (please, like i was ever gonna stick with 10) songs that i suggest sampling, and as promised not one of them come from blurryface. i tried to give a mix of what they are capable of, but it's tough because genuinely i don't know how to classify them musically. also because i'm extra, i also included the lyric(s) from the song that made me fall in love with it.
"trees" / vessel -- silent in the trees. why won't you speak, where i happen to be? silent in the trees. standing cowardly. i can feel your breath. i can feel my death. i want to know you.
"shy away" / scaled and icy -- don't you shy away. manifest a ceiling when you shy away. searching for that feeling, just like an "i love you"
"leave the city" / trench -- last year, i needed change of pace. couldn't take the pace of change moving hastily. but this year, though i'm far from home - in trench i'm not alone.
"garbage" / breach -- i'm so lost, like "what is happening?" like, "what is happening?" would you move closer if i grew quieter? maybe this is you. maybe you don't fix and you like it like this. i feel like garbage.
"routines in the night" / clancy -- i'm testing the limits of what a mind can do. i'm keeping my eyelids up, no matter what. so beautiful, the space between. a painful reminder and a terrible dream. i've been here before and i've got time.
"formidable" / scaled and icy -- you should know, i might be cynical towards you. i'm just worried my loyalty will bore you.
"the hype" / trench -- it might take some friends and a warmer shirt, but you don't get thick skin without getting burnt. nice to know my kind will be on my side. i don't believe the hype.
"center mass" / breach -- i don't wanna say what happened. i just wanna let it go. nothing was the same right after i went to the funeral. i miss you so, so much, take what you want. take what you want from me. took you for granted.
"oldies station" / clancy -- then before you know, you lose some people close. forcing you to manage your pace. found your capacity for love and tragedy. embracing how things always change.
"level of concern" / single -- i told you my level of concern, but you walked by like you never heard. and you could bring down my level of concern, just need you to tell me we're alright, tell me we're okay.
"days lie dormant" / breach -- my days lie dormant. 'cause i just can't afford it. to waste my time inside a place you're not. don't make me waste my love it's everything i've got.
"redecorate" / scaled and icy -- i don't want to leave like this. 'cause the last thing i want to do is make my people make decisions. wondering what to do. should they keep it on display or redecorate?
okay, and again because i'm me, here are my personal favorites from every album, if they aren't already listed above.
"air catcher" / self titled -- i was doing fine on my own and there wasn't much i lacked, but you've stolen my air catcher and i don't know if i want it back.
"forest" / regional at best -- i don't understand why everything i adore takes a different form when i squint my eyes. have you ever done that when you squint your eyes, and your eyelashes make it look a little not right? and then when just enough light comes from just the right side, and you find you're not who you're supposed to be?
"guns for hands" / vessel -- simply suggest my chest and this confused music, it's obviously best for them to turn their guns to a fist. i'm trying. i'm trying to sleep. i'm trying, i'm trying to sleep. but i can't, but i can't. when you all have guns for hands.
"fairly local" / blurryface -- i know who i truly am. i truly do have a chance. tomorrow i'll switch the beat to avoid yesterday's dance.
"jumpsuit" / trench -- i'll be right there, but you'll have to grab my throat and lift me in the air. if you need anyone, i'll stop my plans. but you'll have to tie me down and then break both my hands. if you need anyone. i'll be right there.
"mulberry street" / scaled and icy -- keep your sunny days. leave us in the rain. tie strings to our hands and feet, to rain on your parade. you can have the weekends. we will live between them.
"snap back" / clancy -- i have seemed to run out of excuses of why i am this way. got a bad feeling that i'm about to break. been a good streak, but the pressure's overweight. is it even good for my head to keep track? if i'm gonna snap necks, then i gotta snap back.
"city walls" / breach -- entertain my faith. this is the last time that i try.
"drum show" / breach (because this is my most played TOP song and i refuse to not acknowledge it in this listing) -- drown it out. i've been this way. i want to change. i've been this way. i want to change. he's putting on a drum show, even now.
