i still think bout the time my uncles goat has been in labor for a few hours and he was concerned when he wasn't seeing any progress. my aunt called the vet, who said that that timeframe isn't alarming and that labor-to-delivery can even take up to a week (to this day I can not find any source corroborating this??? what the fuck???)
every time my aunt or uncle called over the passing days to describe how they thought the goat was just getting worse, the vet just fed them more bullshit. no visit. no real assessment. just more empty reassurances.
the goats suffering was finally over after two weeks. i'm sure it was slow and agonizing two weeks.
