Spending the summer at the Canto Bight resort with her family, Rey Skywalker meets the dance instructor, Poe Dameron, whose background is vastly different from her own. When she fills in as Poe’s dance partner and as he is teaching her the dance routine they fall in love. A romance forbidden due to their social class differences.

Are you psychic? I was *just* thinking about this storyline and wondering how it would go as a fic. Would it just come from the Havana Nights POV or would some of the original movie’s storyline be incorporated? Either way this would be a phenomenal AU!!!!

Rey is a scavenger on a small desert planet so unimportant most people don’t remember its name and dreams of being a daring space pilot. Poe is a daring space pilot fighting against the First Order and dreams of a life beyond the war. They are completele strangers living separate lives on opposite sides of the galaxy until they suddenly and randomly start to switch places. While adjusting their lives around each other and their new bizarre link they slowly build a connection by leaving notes and messages in the memory drive of their droids, and more important an imprint, until they wish to finally meet. But something stronger than distance may keep them apart. When the body switching stops all of a sudden Poe discovers their timelines aren’t in step and that Rey’s planet has been destroyed 3 years ago by the First Order with no survivors, marking the beginning of the war. Is the string of fate between them strong enough to bring them together and change the past, or will forces outside their control leave them forever separated?
