Horror that explores the trauma of women that allows them to be portrayed as unhinged and ugly throughout their grief is the type of horror for me. Midsommar, The Babadook, Hereditary, The VVitch, Us, even Jennifer's Body. It's so exciting to me that we are finally claiming space in a medium where our stories will be multifaceted and empowering. Bring me more leading ladies in horror. Bring me more stories centered around women and emotion. Bring me female writers and directors. It's what we deserve.
