Late to the Feels

I found an island doll Amy in pretty much perfect condition with her original face-up and box from 2012 that a charity shop for a hospice was selling on ebay? Who even hands in a legit bjd to a charity shop? Plus I won the bid war and she was still insanely cheap. Like the cheapest bjd I own I think. Outwith free during event ones anyway. I AM SHOOK.

The poor shop had both up as Wallis, so must have just copy-paste because that one was checked over first or something.

I thought my aod Wang zi was my best bargain at 70ish iirc, and with a tonne of nice clothes, but this one is just insane. That's my luck used up forever haha.

Got the darkest American doll sized wig I could find, and it does have a little stretch, so fits-ish. Despite the sales pics being black, it's super dark brown. But that's what I was going for anyway since Laguna does actually have brown hair, not black.

Bad photos because flash is never a good idea, so bad lighting, but I was not moving him to a brighter light when the wig was such a fight to get on his giant head.

I haven't had a pet to name but a few of my Sims have has FF names - in my current game there's a Seifer Belmont! None of my dolls are FF styled but I did make a lazy Tonberry costume that gets brought out at Halloween which I can't find a picture of rn.

I fairly recently replayed the end of FF8 for a friend who preferred 7 and had never finished it. He just didn't get the junction system, was missing a GFs so I didn't a while on the islands closest to heaven and hell drawing magic so we could beat Ultimecia. And I just remember I recorded the end of the game on VHS for another friend because this was pre-Youtube! I think I'd forgotten what a major obsession these games were until you gave me the slightest nudge and suddenly it's all spilling out! Now excuse me, I'm gonna go listen to Liberi Fatali...!

I was solo most of my childhood, even when not, they weren't as interested (read:fixated) in what I was, so no cool experiences in that regard, but goddamn I feel this passion.

Boycotted new Square except dragon quest and original dissidia for years after XII iirc. Did finish it, and have replayed it as the zodiac version, so now appreciate it a lot better being older. Especially after eventually playing the XIII trilogy super late (although not the final one to completion. The timer is an awful mechanic. Zelda, ok. Massive jrpg, no.), and getting roped into pre-ordering the absolute travesty that is XV.

I'm in FF for the characterisation. XIII had very little outside of tropes and XV had zero heart.

PSP days were grand. Crisis core is hands down one of the best damn things ever. Also managed to experience I (aka time to get lost) and IV on there, along with III on the DS. Played VI for the first time a few years ago too. They used to make them so GOOD. What the hell happened =( Can't even blame nostalgia for thinking that because I didn't play the older ones until waaaay outside of what would have been the nostalgic age.

I remember discovering final fantasy sim skins and losing my mind. But I never got a decent enough pc.

I didn't experience kingdom hearts properly either. Started on chain of memories for DS (again, a random gift), played 2 before 1 etc. Birth by sleep and days were the best for me. The maximum salt? Vincent was planned to be in the series. That's why Cloud looks so much like him. Rude as hell. At least we got Auron. Love me my goofy and/or tragic bastards.

Balthier had an accident and glue never worked. Big Auron is in his box ontop of the shelf. All looking super manky as I don't like drawing attention to that area because the cats will remember they are there and commence thieving mode. They forget sometimes 🤣

You can't tell but behind Vincent and Turk Vincent (my first ever eBay purchase!) Is a Knights of Round figure. I have Cloud and Sephiroth in that size somewhere too. And I have a bag with a load of FFX figures on in a very much worse for wear state.

Poor Balthier! Although my Cloud has a broken leg - peg must have got painted so when I tried to pose it it snapped. Told myself it was an excuse to replace him with the version with the bike but I never had the funds or the space.

I need to decide if I'm getting FFV digitally onto the ps3 as I doubt I'll get it in physical before the ps store closes down on old gen in a few months. Hoping they maybe sale before that.

VI is good! But I did have the today's benefit of looking up anything online if needed. Terra is a cinnamon roll, and all characters had their own story which made it great. The version I played had the dodgy translations though, and was mad. Tonberries were called pugs🤣

I know I've missed out a good one with lost odyssey. Fable too. But I never had an xbox, and certainly am not getting one now, as my current backlog is insane. Not joking when I say I'm probably set for life haha (Shin megami tensei and monster hunter are the WORST time consumers alone, nevermind all of the others to get through. Discovered Yakuza 0 last year too. Immediately had to buy all of the main series apart from the newest. Ugh). Also why I won't get myself a decent pc. The possibilities with that would NEVER end.

DQVIII was the ps2 one. Took a loooong time for us to get anymore localised. XI scratched the proper turn-based jrpg itch really well. Too well really. Thing was over 100 hours 😂

FFIX is smashing too, but grim. They all have undertones of it (X, entire plot more like), but IX gets grim FAST.

That's another reason I won't get a pc. I know I'd fry it trying to run something it can't. Don't remember where I saw the skins. Probably custom jobs?

You're lucky you haven't been through IX. It gets worse. There's a tree. Iifa. Two i's. I have gone almost it's entire age thinking it was Lifa. All the fun times. Always thought it was tide-us too to continue on the weather themes with Cloud and Squall.

I always felt we got like the sub par play arts figures over here? A good few of mine had something wrong with them straight out of the box. All of them came from my local forbidden planet at the time, so no postal shade either. No idea. Also why I won't buy any of the new ones. How can I be sure the quality is there when I've experienced first hand that it isn't 🙃

So since you can customise the entire scouting option now and not justa few preferences (amazing!), Laguna doggo🤣

Assuming the scouts do come as the full custom version. Blessing and a curse if so.
