As for explanation, Iβm really sensitive to antiblackness. I live in a racist country that piles ailments on me. If Iβm choosing to give time, money, care, n love in a space, I NEED to know the space condemns antiblackness. Itβs a priority for my health and wellness
If a concern for antiblackness has not been addressed and condemned, I donβt feel secure in the space.
And I have not seen messages in this space that reassure me, which has since taken the wind out of my sails
Also, the lens of how I analyzed the media was under an impression that the material is written through a carefully considered intersectional, queer perspective. This was the main selling point for me personally, but Iβm not certain if my perception was accurate
Which is ok btw! The artists should be able to do as they please, it is art! And I donβt mind being wrong about something lol, thatβs life. It could be that my first impression is actually correct, but the uncertainty is too troublesome for me to contend with
So, I havenβt been inspired to draw anything. All I do is seek joy in my time off of work. If I canβt find it in one place, I try to find it elsewhere. Simple as that. Honestly, idk for sure if that loss of enthusiasm is permanent, I just know how I feel now.
And my heart doesnβt beat the way it used to.
Thank you to all the kind people who have shown my fanart love over the years! And I hope everyone continues to have fun! I hope Spindlehorse continues to make queer art that can thrive. I know the Hellaverse is such a special place, and a project filled with love and talent.
