it's a great day for hockey

one gifset takes me (using techniques ive learned from several years of giffing + art school) somewhere between 30-45 minutes. i pride myself on my coloring (as do so many gifmakers!) and on making sure my gifs run smoothly. this is my hobby i do for fun to partake in my little community! stealing gifs destroys the trust and camaraderie of a community, discourages creators from making the art that is the backbone of fandom, and in general reveals a really blatant disrespect for the people you are sharing a space with. and for what? a couple extra notes on tumblr dot com?? really???

it's hard to follow the url trail, but i think the original reposter was going by tysonhos, but their blog got tanked so now they're going by tysonhosdeux. this group has been blazing their posts on tumblr in an attempt to (i think??) join the heated rivalry fandom and clout chase over there. some of the other suspicious blogs i've noted (not necessarily reposters, just ones that popped up all at the same time and reblog from the reposters immediately) are sassysvetlana, ilyasshamethesis, wolfbirdcottage, and rozanovasinthesky. they also frequently block creators after stealing the gifs so that the presumably won't see them on their dash.

these people are shameless and there's really nothing to stop them considering i'm sure they'll just remake and continue reposting, but if you're in the heated rivalry or the hockey fandoms i would just be on the look out for suspicious blogs with limited amounts of posts who are blazing gifs. a good way to check if something is stolen is to look at the original tags and see if the creator used any sort of identifying tag to claim the gifs, such as mine, or myedit. creators often use these tags to track their gifs!
