Everything that occured to Team US in Tokyo (Simone pulling out, Jade balking in Vault finals) was such an insane, one in a million chance that no one saw coming, that the fact Tom's rank order selection ended up working out and Myk did end up winning a vault medal was just pure, dumb luck, and doesn't prove anything about his desicions.

There is absolutely no way anyone could have counted on this. This selecrion was completely stupid from the beginning to the end and nothing he should defend. I'm happy for myk that it somehow worked out for her but having both of your top gymnast in one event having a breakdown is nothing you should have been banking on as a head coach (wouldn't you in that case tried to work on simone and jade to be in the right space mentally/not make super uncharacteristic mistakes) rather than brining a third gymnast.

I have a copy of the code saved on my computer and I haven’t stepped foot in a gym for over a decade, there is no reason for an ELITE COACH to not know that thing forwards, backwards and inside out

I hope they make this story justice. Its quite complex. I know I've seen in the past that Kerry Strugg wanted to vault and at the same time we are having the debate now on how much gymnasts in the past (and currently) could just speak up. Maybe Kerry's own thoughts on it has changes over the years.... or will change.
