This week’s Wednesday love goes to our own Patrick Ryan. Patrick is an integral part of Atlas Motorworks. We couldn’t be luckier to have his talent on our team. This was P-Ratt’s first build, commissioned by Carl Blakeslee, a partner & designer with Woolwich footwear.

Starting off with a stock 1978 cb750k, this was a frame-off build with powder coating on the wheels, frame & triple trees done by Blast from the Past. The Mac 4 into 1 header is wrapped with exhaust insulator & a cone industry muffler to finish the deep tone of the inline four cylinder. The top tree has drag bars for an aggressive stance while the stock speedo gauge was relocated to a center mount on the tree.

The subframe was bobbed & fitted with a custom seat in walnut brown vinyl. The carburetors were fitted with four Uni filters. The motor was painted with a temp matte finish while the fuel tank is three layers of black, copper & silver, laid wet & acid washed for a distressed look.

The 78′ dirt tracker is now being showcased at the Annex PDX.

Atlas Moto’s first restoration is complete!

This 1980 Kawasaki KZ1000 came to us from Kenneth Claud on behalf of his brother, Larry Claud, a former motocross team rider for Nashville legend Ray Dey.

The KZ1000 series is iconic to the Atlas family. From Max Rockatansky chasing down Nightrider and his moto gang in the first Mad Max to Ponch and Jon cruising the California coast in ChiPs, we’ve always had a love for this bike.

The project was spearheaded by our own Patrick Ryan & Taylor Pyburn, sourcing a majority of the parts direct from Japan. Powder coating was done by Mr. Speed Coatings of Goodlettsville, TN, bringing the engine back to factory specs. A full rebuild on the front end, including carburetors, as well as a Vance & Hines 4 into 1 exhaust has this black beauty breathing easy once again.

Leaving a corporate job behind in Indiana, Jimmy made the move to Nashville 3 years ago & Moto Moda was born. Beginning as a pop up shop housed in a 1972 Airstream Argosy featuring carefully selected brands, vintage apparel & moto accessories, Moto Moda now has a permanent home at 521 Gallatin Ave.

A recent addition to the Blackbird Assembly, Jimmy continues to foster community & make sure everyone around him feels like family. So go swing by the shop, throw on a record & tell him we say hey! You’ll never want to leave.

Art began this build after taking a leap of faith & leaving the corporate world to follow his passion for motorcycles. Commissioned by Troy Steakhouse, he found this 1981 CX500 in a yard for $300 & set to work. Every piece of this bike was done by Art, down to the paint. Countless hours spent in the garage turned a passion into a career into the family that is now Atlas Motorworks
